In Australia, & New Zealand Ford Ranger & Toyota Hilux's are massive sellers. The Cybertruck in its current form, is too big for these roads. I heard it would not even be allowed on the Australian roads. I still have an order placed for one - though not holding my breath over it. (in New Zealand)

I wanna comment on the Arizona driving test. Here in New Hampshire they asked me to turn off the region break-in on my model Y so that my son could take his driving exam.

The idea is that people who only have access to the safest cars on the road, Tesla, cannot get drivers' licenses. Anyone taking the driving test could easily be told to apply the brakes; the regenerative brakes still need added braking to stop sooner.

I don't understand why Premium Connectivity doesn't include over the air updates. You still have to connect to WiFi. Is it a security issue or something?

It's 4g, which is too slow to download large updates quickly. That's the main reason among others, I'm sure.

In Massachusetts you have to take the road test using a vehicle with a hand emergency brake accessible to the instructor (in center of vehicle.) 90% of people don’t have this, so you have to hire a driving school to use their vehicle!

hey guys, i am sure that the reason they banned the starlink was because it was drawing away from their over inflated service on board because if you want to have more than just social media websites or video streaming sites on a carnival cruise ship here in australia you need to pay $25.50/day per person so if you have 4 people thats $101/day and they state on prohibited products lists you can not have routers or similar devices

I would still want ea individual door to be unlocked with app or facial recognition to open door. I normally like only my drivers side to open but many times I try to open the door for my kid or spouse and can’t.

Driving test: unless there is a stipulation that the license is only valid on vehicles with regen braking, it is reasonable to test that the driver can drive without it. I can't leagly drive without my glasses a paraplegic might be limited to a car with hand brakes and throttle. An EV only license might be reasonable for someone who hasn't demonstrated the ability to drive an ICE car.

Re the AZ DOT license test: You must take the driver's test in a vehicle that is harder to drive and sufficiently dangerous? I suppose that makes a little sense. Little being the key word there. Maybe they should require the test be done in a diesel RV, or maybe one of the hot Italian cars, like a Ferrari or Bugatti... Of course, the tester's opinion does point to one of the reasons I love my Model Y: it can make less work of the driving experience, enabling the driver to stay more aware of what is happening around the car and reducing fatigue the driver might experience on long trips. Do note that even without FSD, every Tesla I know of has TACC, which might be considered "cheating" on a driver's test. And most have Autopilot which might look a lot like FSD to the under informed. I think it would be fair to disallow the use of FSD, TACC and Autopilot in a driver's test, because some measure of consistent mechanical proficiency should be required, at least as long as the license is meant to be valid for driving stupider, software challenged cars. Perhaps the right answer is to have separate classes of driver's license, adding it to the existing classes. Commercial (by the way, I wonder if the regular license requirements for semi-truck drivers will all apply to Tesla semi drivers...) , Motorcycle, Carmagnum or Neandercar, Easier and Safer to drive car.

Let a person do a driving test in a last minute chosen modern Tesla. They'll fail for no indicating when required. Let's not prevent as if USA isn't one of the easiest places to get a license. So much drama over nothing. European driving tests...not the same. Two Americans should try on camera. One who can already drive, and one who's never driven and needs to learn it all. On Western European roads.

Well, I have been watching constellation satellites since the Iridium launches in the late ’90s. I was instantly aware of the problems that such satellite constellations represent for anyone involved. Keeping the satellites as low as possible is super important for not screwing up space for future generations-that is, preventing space junk from accumulating. One question we can ask any rocket-launching business is: how much long-term space junk have you contributed to space? I know that SpaceX tries to avoid creating space junk, but how many long-term objects has it generated? The second problem with constellation satellites is their ability to be used anywhere in the world. The U.S. military loves it because they can get real-time intelligence globally, and jamming Starlink isn’t easy. Imagine every Starlink satellite equipped with a good telephoto camera. Really, they didn’t do it? It seems like a logical request from the U.S. military. It might be one of Musk’s “get out of jail free” cards. At any rate, the fact that Starlink can operate without government permission in sovereign nations could have major consequences. For example, if China or Russia decided to take out Starlink. This is, of course, next-level hard because of the distributed nature of Starlink, but you could create debris fields that Starlink can’t navigate around, causing a catastrophe and creating massive amounts of space junk. Starlink represents a kind of king-of-the-hill position. Russia and China have been extremely tolerant; thankfully, they are looking at creating their own systems instead of taking out SpaceX. In spite of the geopolitical dangers, I am a huge fan of Starlink, but no one should be naïve about the world politics at play.

In my opinion, a drivers license should only be issued to a driver who demonstrates the ability to.properly operate a vehicle with none of the driver assist features active. If the test vehicle has assist features the operator must also be able to demonstrate ability to work with those features.

How naive People are crazy for believing in Tesla. Most likely, all you see is Tesla traveling along a route designed specifically for the vehicle. That is unrelated to autonomous driving.Congratulations! You've accomplished something that others have long since been able to do, Tesla Robot, if it's pouring drinks. To find out if you can actually drive, the license test should be conducted in a car with as little technology as possible. If your examiner advises against using Regen breaking, do not use it. Regen breaking and regular breaking are entirely different. For a driver, breaking is the most crucial aspect. This is unrelated to those who despise Tesla; rather, all EVs ought to be outlawed or at the very least forbidden from using Regen breaking during testing. In my home country of Switzerland, one can only drive an automatic car if they pass the test in one. That comparison with Manual is not really relevant because, if you know how, you can stop almost completely without breaking in a manual car. It is still preferable to learn everything and not rely too much on the technology in the car, even if we only drive electric vehicles in the future. Every year, drivers get worse.
