I’m not really that interested in it but I would blame that more on the crappy introduction books that they had. Obviously not all the comics and novels are terrible but first impressions are everything, that’s why so many people won’t give clone wars a chance. Also many fans would prefer the old republic rather than the high republic. The only high republic era content I’m interested in is Acolyte mainly because it’s a Sith revolving show and could possibly have a young plagueis and even young Palpatine.

I dont like that so much of the galaxy was unexplored and being colonised only 200 years before phantom menace. In that movie, it feels like the galaxy, or at least the republic, its size and its place in it, has been the same or stagnant for longer then that. 500 years at least, if not a 1000 years or more. I’m just thinking out loud here, I haven’t really become hooked by the story yet, maybe because it’s about events and not character driven. None of the characters has a personal storyline that matters, Is that it? When compared to the Mandalorian for example, you get a lot of personal moments with Mando and Grogu that involves questions about say identity as an outsider, family connection versus no attachments, there are high emotional stakes and character development. Has anyone here a character in high Republic that they feel engaged about? I am happy to be corrected.
