Jay is taking so much hate from the fan base right now. Everyone is on the Eloy train. Don’t get me wrong the guy is a prodigy. But I feel like Jay deserves a lot of credit for picking up where Joey left off. And I’m sure Eloy will do the same.

@Eirik36 They're starting to become insufferable. Acting like Eloy is the greatest thing to happen to the band. Completely disregarded the legacy that Joey and Jay had. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked Eloy. He makes Slipknot sound pretty good live! But it's starting to become toxic at this point. Dude doesn't even play with two single pedals, yet has four bass drums. Like come on man.

I'm not a drummer, but I've been a Slipknot fan since the beginning. I just wanted to say from a "life in general" standpoint, that I really appreciate the "What is this obstacle teaching me?" point of view. Bottom line, my life really sucks in a lot of ways. I have declined with my medical and mental issues in recent years and it's made every day frustrating and torturous. Being in a state of exhaustion all the time, it's difficult not to just feel angry and defeated all the time with every bad thing that happens, even small things. Or just not being able to do the simplest things on some days for my son and I. Though I'm sure it'll take a lot of practice, I really feel like if I can train myself to ask that basic question when I hit my barriers, it will assist me in working on my negative attitude and change my approach to life over time. So yeah, really great advice that pretty much applies to anything. Great video man, thanks a lot!

I think that eloy is such a mystery to North American and European people, because they do not have the cultural baggage to understand the Latin American groove, such as the brazilian. Besides being a technical genius, he incorporates the brazilian rhythms with his metal drumming, last guy that did this was Igor Cavalera.

He was as average as a band as big as Slipknot could get away with. That Eloy tho...he is a beast, I have no doubt Slipknot got the most technically superior drummer they could find, probably the best in every single caregory out of the 3 drummers. Then I heard Black Sabbath and a lot changed for my playing. IMHO Eloy’s playing is WORLDS beyond what slipknots prior drummers could try and do. I’m interested in what Eloy will do for slipknot. And now… I expect the haters who will disagree with my comment, to throw their hate. Aaaand go!!!

We always did that in my bands. Play the set twice and it was extreme metal so was hard work, and the would do 2 hours of working on new stuff. It was hardwork and we did it twice a week and then went to 4 times a week. The set became easy live.

Doing Singles that Fast is when you know youve reached the top. These guys are prodiges. If they were able to drum that fast after a short amount of time, then that explains everything. I cannot see these guys working on singles and doubles for years and years only to step up small notch. Their gifted. End of story.

The funny thing is that these guys prolly cant teach the drums effectively but they can play them. Id like to hear from their teachers. Who taught joey? At what point did joey stop lessons and KNOW that he reached THAT POINT?

With all that said: easy peasy for Mr. Casagrande, the most robust and skilled of the three drummers.

I mean, I would also say that training can help in generally playing more; like, going to the gym and shit, that helps with your general stamina. Playing drums is a full body workout, generally, especially the higher level you go.
