One of the coolest portable record players of all time, and one of the most valuable! A rare peek under the hood of the Sony PS-F9.

Wow. I bought my Sony FH-7 Mk II back in 1985 when I was 19 and it nearly ate up my entire paycheck! The system was just under $500 and the record player was I think, around $140 AND THEN there was the CD-5 which was over $200 on its own! So when I decided to look on eBay to see if I could find a replacement of my old system (I sold mine a few years after buying it like an average dummy) I was glad to see realistic prices of $400 for the system and $80 for the compact record player and $60 for the CD-5/CD-5A. Replacing the 5 belts in. Cassette player challenged my limited electronic repair skills but I pulled it off, lol. I just received my record player today so it requires 3 belts and is a LOT easier to replace them compared to the cassette player! I also have a couple high end walkmans that need similar repairs and I’m looking for someone who can repair them, would you be able to take those on? One is a high end AIWA (mine was made in 1984 I believe) and needs a cover hinge part replaced, it looks like a simple piece of square stock that’s missing but it’s never easy as we think, lol. Thanks for the excellent video, I always wondered how that thing worked. My daughters are into old school audio so this will be something they can hold onto over the years. Thanks again. Kevin. I’m a retired Army Infantryman.
