People make this out as being completely insane, but when you actually look at the design and parameters it actually seems quite reasonable. It’s not an iceberg with an aircraft carrier strapped on top, it’s an inclosed, insulated, and highly viable for the time, ship that could have succeeded in its role had it been given the chance.

When they built the "proof of concept" in Jasper Alberta, it was built by conscientious objectors....they just didn't tell them what it was for And when they turned off the refrigeration, it took over a year to finally melt and sink So there was logic in the idea, just not enough
