@Omar_E114 жыл бұрын
@loveutill theendoftimes Michael always said he wouldn't have been as successful without his strict father. I think Joseph's biggest issue wasn't really the physical discipline, it was the fact that he actually mocked, teased, insulted, and disparaged his own children as a method of parenting. I think that's what really fucked Mike up, and some of the other siblings. Janet says he was quite cold as well. But interestingly, besides Latoya the other siblings never held that stuff against them.

Michael announced his final tour a few days before he died and the final tour was called This is it. Michael’s final album included a song called A Place Without a Name (take me to a place without a name). When he was living he was a master of disguised and dreamed of being a regular person his whole life. He knew people was after his money and they even accused him of molestation. If he considered faking his death so that he could be someone else he had plenty of opportunities to plan his death. And he even died at his own estate. Michael Jackson couldn’t sleep but I think he realized it was because he was MJ and because of his celebrity status.

I am from the south and that was the average size house for a family back in the 60's. My parents had 6 kids and we lived in a 2 bedroom house with 1 heater in the entire house, heater was in the living room. We had 1 bath and the kitchen. We didn't think anything about it because every home had 2 bedroom. We had bunk beds in our bedroom and a full size bed. My sister and I shared the bottom bunk, one of my brothers was on the top bunk and my other two brothers shared a full size bed. My youngest brother was 11 months old and he slept in his crib in our bedroom. By the time he turned 1 year old, my parents had built a larger home, still with 3 bedrooms, a large living room, dining room, family room and the kitchen. We thought we were rich, lol. Our new home had a furnace. No more wood to be cut. The people across the street from us had 21 kids, plus the parents in a 2 bedroom home, kitchen, livingroom and one bathroom. To this day, we don't know where/how 23 people slept in a 2 bedroom house. But they did. It was the norm and no one complained. This was the 60's and most homes had 2 bedrooms. By the 70's, homes were being built with 3 bedrooms. We were little and when your little everything seems big so our 2 bedroom home looked big to us. Our first house was about the size of the Jackson home in Gary and they survived having 9 children, parents 11 total. You make a way when that is all you have. Back in the 60's that was simply all you had, black or white.

These guys are legends. I was so honoured to have met these guys back in July 2018 when they came to Scotland and performed, including Jermaine they are so humble and caring and so down to Earth.

We need more family music. Great insight Marlon. I play their music when I’m entertaining my little kids and 92 year old grandmother. Motown music in general is my go-to for a good bop that pleases everyone. I love the Jackson family and deeply miss our brother, Michael, too. “Never can say goodbye” to MJ. 💚

Those of us who grew up with the Jackson 5 still love them to this day. I still listen to them on my Mp 3 player at work., the music never gets old and always brings a smile to my face.The younger generation call him MJ we call him Micheal. I saw them in concert n 1971. And again after Micheal died and nothing changed because it felt like Micheal was there.

The 1st time I saw The Jackson 5 at The Baltimore, Md. Civic Center. They were there all the time. I also saw Michael's solo act at the Capitol Centre in Largo, Md.

This interview clip just put a big old smile on my face! I remembered as a kid hearing their songs blasting out the jukebox at the corner juke joint and snack store as we played our favorite pinball machine!

I love these guys. I remember Christmas Day 1969. I was four that year. Jackson 5 playing in the background. My mom and older siblings bustling around the house. House smelling good and me pulling my wooden wagging tail and ears dog down the hall. One of my most cherished memories. Oh, and I miss my mom.

Being born and raised in East St Louis Ill, I saw the *Jackson Five 1971 Going Back To Indiana Concert* at 10y.o. on our b/w tv. I went crazy over Tito & Jermaine on guitar. I ran to the kitchen, grabbed my mother by the hand and brought her in front of the tv hollering excitedly "Mama! I wannabe like them, when I grow up!" Then begged her and my father to buy me a guitar.
