There's just so much of that power in him. His way of strumming, his voice - pretty distinctive. When he plays, you are compelled to listen. And what a performance all in all! Tell ya something: I did download this video (actually, the other one, the one with the complete interview) and I've been watching it so often. I just can't get enough of the mystic in it. Lee's able to conjure something that's altogether ancient, mystical, moving and inspiring - in this performance this ability is laid so bare and so pure. Addictive.

@benedictearlson90445 жыл бұрын
It's really nice to see other people experience music on a very profound level, especially something like this. Hope it still moves you. The lyric is of an ancient wisdom and the music and vocal is pure and without ego. When Lee says 'I know we are' I wonder if he's aware that he's referencing the lyric when it says 'even the words they fail me'. Because to 'know' you are real is really not not be real - knowledge is conceptual and the real is not that.

lee mavers best performance. and it saddens me to say that because i know if any of us were lucky enough to be in his presence when he played, im talking just him and his guitar, we would say the same. sadly the world will never get to see or appreciate fully this mans talent and pure ability. if we are talking just one man and am acoustic guitar only lennon and marley can compete in my opinion.

I don't get it. Supposedly the La's undoing was Mavers' insistence that they weren't being recorded properly. Yet there they are in a TV studio, total off-the-cuff performance, and it sounds awesome. Do an MTV Unplugged, make an album from it, and move on to another project!
@lennon14823 ай бұрын
this is the kind of way he wanted to be recorded but the machine was not gonna bend to a stoned scouser, although he got "over" released ....so the la's in their purest form exist in these videos and it's a great thing we can watch these moments that people at the time could never watch in the uk this being in canada
