Man, I hope Jay Leno buys this. The car deserves the publicity and deserves to have someone that appreciates it, can afford to take care of it and help keep the story alive and drive it around and enjoy it. The story behind the car is just so good, it's hard to even put into words how great the history is. I hope the money takes Greg far and sets up a great future for his family and his kids to get a great education and have a great life. I also hope Dodge is kind enough to give Greg one of the "Last Call" Challenger tribute cars. If anyone deserves one, it's Greg and his son!

Roadrunners Chargers, Challengers, Super Bees... you name it... small block, big block, race cars, stock cars... We learned damn near everything we knew about bodywork, rebuilding engines, rebuilding transmissions, and electrical work. We did it all! At the end of the day, it’s a hunk of metal. There is a reason why he needs to sell it. The past needs to stay in the past. His family realizes that and it’s time to move on. Sure it’ll be a collectible item but maintaining it will be the issue for many years if he keeps it for generations. It’s better to sell now when the markets are hot for these cars too. You have to remember that people want to move away from the past so they may look out for themselves in the future. The more you hold onto things in the past, the more you hold yourself back from potential opportunities in the future.

We can all agree keeping the car would be the best case scenario, but for the owner, I believe the legend was all about his dad. I’m sure that his dad is smiling down, knowing the car made it out of that garage, and with it, his story! Now the story, the car and the legend, can provide financial security for his Son’s family, I can’t think of a better ending to this story. I hope it sells for millions, and honestly I hope he can sell the stories movie rights next! God Bless!

It's a great story that I want to believe but could it be bs? A stock hemi Challenger with slicks just smoking everything in the early 70s in a major car city like Detroit? Let's be honest. Guys in Detroit in the early 70s were HEAVILY modding already fast other cars. If this is legit, which again I want to believe it is, wouldn't there be more people in these videos who actually saw these races and even some who raced the car? Now I'm starting to wonder. And exactly why is this car on the National Register of historic vehicles? It came out every now and then and won some street races? Look at the other vehicles on there and their significance to American automotive history compared to this. Demonology love the channel! 89 Turbo t/a is a BAD ASS car!

As a 'stand up guy's for the life lived while taking care and raising his family, I wouldn't be surprised if he could speak from Heaven and say, go ahead son and get the most you can from the sale. Now DAMN'IT, someone needs to make a feature film about the very extraordinary full life and times about Godfrey Qualls. Not just about a urban legend baddassed car, but humble, modest and assuming man...who lived a cool AND badassed life (military career veteran/law enforcement/daring night street racer/during struggling times during the Civil Rights era while being raised Nashville AND becoming a man Detroit during the turbulent times of the 1960s)...come on! Now you are saying he said to not give it away. I believe your father would rather it be given to the right person instead of selling it to someone who doesn't care but has money. Disappointed in Godfreys son for auctioning it off after what he said in front of 6.5 million people. What happened to "I became a car guy." What happened with Godfrey saying in the hospital "Don't give my fuckin' car away." What happened to the kid saying "That little army guy is GQ and these other two belong in the car too because then that's GQ, you dad, and me." What about when he said "My plans is to keep the car so it could go down to a third generation." What about the ending lines? "I think my dad would be proud, I think he would be smiling down on us. From cheek to cheek." I can understand if they have money problems and I feel sorry for them if they do. However, I would bet my house that there is someone out there rich enough and willing to help him just so he can keep the car in the family.

Hey Demonology, why does KZbin keep taking you off my videos? I have to look you up to watch your videos anymore. You have one of my favorite channels and I've watched all your videos that shows up on my feed. Then the next thing you know you're not on my feed anymore, and I have to look you up. KZbin obviously doesn't want me to watch your videos. Them regulating how much people watch your videos takes money out of your pocket and enjoyment from me.

Would he want a new Black Ghost? He could start a new black ghost legend? That would be awesome if Dodge would give him a new Black Ghost.
