It’s amazing how the sculptor leaned into the “flat” nature of metal casting to help set up how the model leans backwards - very clever way of turning a limitation into an advantage. And that dynamic gnoblar just absolutely adds to the overall mini. And of course the paint job is fantastic.

Tenchu is a DEEP cut! I remember putting the game in a CD player and listening to the soundtrack for hours!!! The ogre ninja turned out great!

I'd forgotten all about this model. I tend to think that the quality of GW's ogres took a massive dive when they decided to make Ogres a faction and that the best ones are from the 80s plus a few from the early 90s. I stick to that view, but I can't say they haven't done any good ones when this chap's around. Great job you've done with him too.

Love the Nippon! There was talk about Cathay and Kislev maybe happening, way back at the start of TOW release but I think if I remember right they kind of shut that down pretty fast. Hopefully not though as it would be cool to see some kind of army for them

The ninja man eater was originally some kind of special edition or mail order only. I don't remember exactly but there was something a bit rare about him. I had one and it felt like such a flex. Cool model

Looking at that map seems like one area cognate not discovered is the far east of siberia. Would be cool to have a faction based upon the Yupik / Chukchi because they have some of the most unique and interesting lamella armour ive ever seen.

The maneaters are such great minis. I have them spread as unit fillers throughout my Dogs of War. Good news, this ogre is joining Total War: Warhammer 3 in the next DLC. No full Nippon army yet though, as they seem to be angling it as an Eshin-trained ogre, although lore still says Eshin were trained themselves in Nippon.

There were official rules for playing an all Gnoblar army for Warhammer Fantasy Battles and they’re still findable on the web. Not sure if they’d work with the Old World, but I hope so cuz gnoblars are the best models.

I've got the "ninja" mini from Blood Bowl 2nd edition.

There was a nippon army for 3rd edition. Temple dogs, ninjas, samurai etc.

Think 3rd only had a short allies or mercenaries list for them. Definitely a full list in 2nd Ed Ravening Hordes though and they were also there in 1st Ed complete with warrior martial arts monks named after a fruit squash drink.
