One of the reasons for the lack of tension is the ridiculous plot armor. At the start of the episode, the tie interceptors kept missing every single shot when firing at bo katan and mando’s ship despite many of the times being at point blank range.

I hope destroying Mando's image of a capable mercenary was worth it for having the hundredth girlboss momment in this show. And I actually like Bo-Katan, just would rather have seen both her and Mando be capable? In the span of just a few episodes he has been bested by any and all enemies he has met, plus according to this show... he would have probably drowned himself from taking a bath, if girl boss was not there to pull him out. Mhm.

I dont think there was meant to be a season 3 of Mando and this was really meant to be the first season of whatever show Bo-katan was meant to be in. Considering Grogu was left off at Luke's jedi training place and Mando was just going to go back Bounty Hunting as he does in that episode of Boba Fett. After this show finishes or gets cancelled maybe they will explain the failure in an interview or something.

But no, KK wanted immediately brought Grogu back on a completely different show for those sweet Baby Yoda toy sales. I bet tons of people who never watched Book of Boba Fett are wondering why the hell they're back together.

Star Wars is a bit strange with its medical care. A high status woman could be pregnant but no one does a sonagram showing she is carrying twins until the last moment. Limbs have to be replaced with rather crude mechanical parts. The head cannon I came up with is that with so many species in the galaxy, medical care literally hasn't focused intensly on humans.

I don't think it really does. 1. Larger ships do have shields in Star Wars that are effective. We see the Millennium Falcon taking several direct strikes that are deflected by its shields. Bo's ship is not as big as the Millennium Falcon but it is larger than a single person fighter like the X-Wing (which despite shields do seem to be unable to deflect a direct hit). 2. More importantly, the depiction of The New Republic is mixed but consistent with cannon. We need it to be somewhat weak and somewhat oblivious to the (rising) threat from the remains of the Empire. Remember, like it or not in only about two decades we're going to have The First Order rising....yes I know it is painful accepting the last trilogy as cannon but technically it remains so. It's also mirrors very much what happened after WWI and WWII. There was massive demobilization after WWI, which meant that when Germany rose again just trying to get the allies up and running was a push. After WWII there was the denazification programs in Germany. It's not shown in cannon, but presumably the Empire used some type of 'conditioning' to aid in keeping the troops super loyal. Long story short, cannon says we should see a Republic that is rapidly demilitarizing. Check. We should see it has generally good intentions (rehabilitate Empire followers, at least those not in higher command and try to be empathetic with them). Check. We should see it generally overwhelmed at the scope of what it has to deal with. Check. We should see it rather blind to rising potential threats from those whose loyalty to the old Empire isn't all gone. Check (and might note this was seen in the 1st season of Mando as well) Saying the Republic are the 'good guys' so shouldn't be shown doing some questionable things, well that's a bit immature. Even Harry Potter is sophisticated enough to realize the 'good guys' aren't saints and Andor makes it clear the Rebellion had a rather grown up angle that wasn't simple idealism. That being said, I mostly agree the first two episodes were painful. This religion they have of never taking off your helmet just seems more and more impractical and absurd (do they not eat meals together? how do they shower? how do they get haircuts? do they always need private rooms even if they are camping on a battlefield?)

The great thing about Star Wars is there isn’t just one continuity. So no matter how much terrible content they put out, it won’t matter as all they’re destroying is Disney Star Wars. George Lucas’ timeline as well as legends are perfectly in tact and unharmed by Disney which is something that’s probably going to be taken advantage of if Disney ever sells the brand.

But now that you say it, I think the writers think that both the Empire AND the Republic have to rule their citizens in the same way, because to them, that's the correct and only way to do it.

The writers didn't write a story based on what would take place in the Star Wars universe. They wrote a story based on modern themes in the real world. Dont mind writers toying with themes. But this was a subtle as someone going up to you and kicking you in the nuts.

Not for nothing but what's depicted here is not worse than the Empire. Except for the mind machine, it's not that far from what happened in Germany after WWII and the allies imposed denazification. IMO it is realistic. The 'de-Empireficiation' would be a massive undertaking (which they are cutting corners doing) and given how extensive the Empire was, it's a real trade off between trying to hold imperials to account while also realizing there's so much guilt to go around society literally couldn't function if you tried to be too hard on everyone.

Being shown of the horrors of the Nazis and using an intelligent person for repetitive work are two different things. And having them separated with a mark at all times is what the Nazis do. They don't really. It seems aside from doing limbs, which are kind of sort of ok, they don't have great medical care for humans nor much with internal medicine. I suppose I can imagine very advanced technology in some things but not others. The HBO Watchmen series imagined a present day where the events of the comic books resulted in some advanced tech but the whole internet thing never happened. Star Wars requires a lot of that. Medicine isn't very advanced exept for the hacker/body modification community that can do some patchups but you're going to be very mechanical. Computers aren't networked or advanced but droids are able to be sort of intelligent...(why, though, do you need your navigation droid to detach from the ship and roll around versus just not being built into the ship? Why do you have one droid that speeks in beeps and boops and then another to translate it? Why wouldn't every droid just speak English?)

Its just a modern thnig where if someone deemed "evil" touches something that object is now evil. The New Republic would be using Empire weapons and ships and crewed with the same people. As many of the officers and stormtroopers were just drafted into the Imperial Navy. You would be seeing X-Wings and Tie Fighters in the same force and housed in Star Destroyers. Would make for a good side story were they have learnt to work together against pirates or something. But this is Disney Star Wars.

When Naruto used 100's of filler episodes I was annoyed, However I knew it was so that the creator could continue the manga and work on the actual story. When Disney uses filler episodes I know it's just because they are incompetent and have no fucking clue what they are doing. So far if we take these three episodes and cut out all the filler, nonsensical jawa banging, Jurrasic turtle fighting, girl power hooray droid copium. I think we've gotten 15 mins of actual Mandalorian story that progresses us to.... to...... oh wait thats right. We still have goku, mandos allowed to live with his fellow cave people...... that's right. There is no fucking point to this show. It's a ploy to get us back to Tatooien . Episode 3 was a great way to kill the momentum of the show. Watching some dumb side show with two NPC you whip out in two blaster rounds was a complete waste of 45 minutes. I guess episode 3 was the diveristy check box episode. I hope we get back on track and these two new clowns get trash compacted and dumped in space.

After hearing what they're doing with the Acolyte (basically saying the Sith were once good but got led astray by the evil Jedi) this is all being done on purpose (making the Republic be the new 'bad' guy instead of the Empire). I know some people might like this sort of 'grey' area stuff where good and bad are not as clearly defined but that's actually one of the things I liked about Star Wars. I liked having a clear line between the good guys and the bad guys, the light side and the dark side. I'm not saying they can't have people who walk in that grey area or have stories that deal with these grey areas but it feels like everything is morally ambiguous anymore and there aren't good people. I don't like that at all.

You forgot that other small vessels like the Falcon have shields. If you know enough of the EU to know that TIEs don't have a hyperdrive, then you should also know that they've got smaller ships like the Falcon, X-Wings, and TIE Defenders that can stop ship-to-ship blaster fire.

deflector shields only provide partial protection from glancing hits, a direct hit will cut right through it and absolutely no one in star wars would put all their defensive faith in shields which is why the falcon is constantly dodging. Bo katan is a moron for thinking the shields will absorb all the damage The only thing that was capable of completely absorbing blaster fire from ships are the Yuuzhan Vong

@@ClippedCoin The Falcon was hit more than once with a direct shot from a Star Destroyer in the first and second SW movie. We also get lots of lore about TIE Defenders and other heavier fighters with shields that can shrug off laser fire. We even see in Episode II Kenobi's tiny Jedi starfighter have shields that held off Jango's Slave 1 dumping a ton of shots on it before he starts using missiles and thinks he won. If you know what the Yuuzhan Vong are, you should also know how small ships with strong shields like the Falcon, Vader's TIE Advanced, the Y-Wings, and even Old Republic ships like the Fury-class Interceptor or the Ebon Hawk can withstand direct hits from space lasers.

The republic is clearly depicted as the bad guy, they were painfully insisting on it to a point it became obnoxious, with peoples basically saying "well the empire is gone but it didn't change that much really haha" The message that were trying to pass is that the new republic is basically an empire lite version and they are not as good as the new republic want us to believe So how did he conslude that peoples at Disney are trying to say that those are the "good guys" and them acting like the most oppressive regime is ok because they are the "good guy", while they literraly screaming at our face during the whole episode that the new republic is bad And i don't know what that segment about Disney being ALL being communist and wanting put the message that opressing peoples is not bad, just wtf, that was such an overstretch and painfully wrong, when they were litteraly screaming at our face "LOOK THEY ARE LIKE THE EMPIRE" But anyways can't wait for peoples to realises in mass that this show is trash

The two first seasons maybe the plot was simple but at least was without too much incoherent things fun and packed with action. Seeing what they done to BOBF i was sure it will start to slowly become as bad. This part with two useless characters was as bad as BOBF... still i really enjoyed the mando part. Bringing back Grogu too fast was stupid even if i had too admit in episode 2 Grogu was awesome. They should have give motivation to Mando to become mandalore to protect Grogu, if mando become Mandalore Grogu is even more protected than with luke. Even Andor which have clever writers has is flaws... it seems people doesn't care no more any logic in stories and worldbuilding... I think also Mando is too old i think it would have been more fun if is like a 25 year old guy two times less age than Grogu but his dad.

TIE fighter cant jump hyperspace is nothing to do about fuel. in original trilogy fuel never a problem, they probably last for decades or perpetual. If energy source is limited like earthly fuel lightsaber wont exist--also modern nuke carrierr/cruiser could cruise for 13 years without any refueling letalone exotic technology in star wars universe. it merely because it dont have hyperdrive. If TIE fighter that limited in range due to fuel, X-wing should be as limited, it bigger but it have four engine and have more complex system than TIEs

The latter half of Episode 3 is the best of the Mandoborian, but that really dinae say much. There was some good world building, good character work and Doc Pershing is perhaps the ONLY decent character in the show.. That said, it falls into the usual trope of mindless action scene (train) and basic plot hole moments near the end, with what’s her tits mind flaying Pershing, and somehow not getting caught.. Also the New Republic decommissioning perfectly good Star Destroyers is stupid.. Edit: No, Gecko Frogg gal was the best character, never mind…
