Watch Episode 1 here: • The Marxist Destructio...
The second episode of our mega series exploring the Marxist destruction of Indian History begins with the steady rise of ideologues who rewrote Indian history. These ideologues primarily hailed from the Aligarh Muslim University and intersected with the Marxists.
This episode traces the downfall of history writing in India, which happened in four or five phases. History writing, which began as a sincere and honest quest for historical truth was eventually hijacked by Marxists who used it as a vehicle to propagate the Communist ideology which has killed the maximum number of people in a single century.
After India got independence, the Marxists got their prized puppet in the form of Jawaharlal Nehru, who promoted them on a prolific scale.
Do watch and listen to the whole podcast that provides priceless insights and rare anecdotes not found in the usual mainstream narratives on the subject.

Thank you so much for this great initiative. As far as I know Prof. R. C Majumdar requested the government for a need to bring out an authentic history of Indian freedom struggle. You are saying it was actually PV Kane...its new for me. You have very thoughtfully presented the discourse. You are right that now because of social media people have more awareness. I would request you to kindly mention the name of documents/books referred to in the talk either in the description or on the screen so that anyone wanting to know more about that could do so. I would like to add here that when Dr. Tarachand completed first part of the history of the freedom movement, there was severe criticism and disapproval of the work in the parliament. Anyone interested can read about these things on the platform digital sansad. Once again thanks for bringing out the history of these discourses on history.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment and for following the discussion so closely. Not just RCM and PV Kane but almost all scholars of that era came up with similar proposals. I just mentioned the most eminent of them. Your point on Tarachand is absolutely correct. His volume was widely panned back then. We hope to provide a book list in the final episode of this series. Stay tuned!

It is fascinating how some of the 20th century saints had implanted the cultural revival of India. Like how K.M.Munshi was taught by Sri.Aurobindo. K.M.Munshi in turn started the Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan which does valuable service through its cultural publications and events. He wrote a Gujarati novel earlier about Somnath Temple Jay Somnath which lead to the movement to reconstruct Somnath Temple kzbin.info/www/bejne/nl7donmhj6yaoq8

The resources you listed are highly credible and represent a range of respected voices in Indian historiography. However, it's important to consider a few key points about the nature of historical evidence and the controversy around saffronization: ### 1. *Primary Sources as Evidence*: - *Why They Matter*: The core strength of the works by historians like Romila Thapar, Bipan Chandra, and D.N. Jha is their reliance on primary sources-original texts, inscriptions, official documents, and archaeological evidence. These primary sources are crucial because they are the closest link to the historical reality, unfiltered by later interpretations. - *Examples in Their Work*: - Romila Thapar’s work on ancient India heavily relies on inscriptions and literary sources from the period. - D.N. Jha’s work on the sacred cow uses ancient texts and historical records to challenge modern interpretations. ### 2. *The Issue of Saffronization*: - *Historical Revisionism*: Saffronization refers to the attempt to rewrite history with a particular ideological agenda, often emphasizing a Hindu-centric narrative. Critics argue that this process selectively uses or misinterprets primary sources to support specific political goals. - *Credibility*: The historians you mentioned, including Thapar and Jha, are critical of saffronization because they argue it distorts historical facts to fit a modern political agenda. Their critiques are based on rigorous analysis of primary sources and are widely respected in the academic community. ### 3. *Historians and Political Influence*: - *Political Context*: The controversy often arises from the intersection of history and politics. Historians like Irfan Habib and Romila Thapar have been accused of having leftist biases, but their work is grounded in extensive research and evidence. - *Evidence vs. Interpretation*: While interpretations can vary depending on a historian’s perspective, the credibility of their work largely depends on how faithfully they adhere to the primary sources. The critiques of saffronization are often about the selective use of evidence, rather than a rejection of certain political ideologies per se. ### 4. *True History*: - *Complexity of "Truth"*: In history, “truth” is multifaceted. The closest we come to it is through a comprehensive analysis of primary sources, balanced interpretations, and the inclusion of multiple perspectives. - *Continuous Debate*: The debate around saffronization is ongoing, reflecting the dynamic nature of historical scholarship. What is considered "true" history is constantly evolving as new evidence comes to light and as historians continue to debate and interpret that evidence. ### Conclusion: The works of historians like Romila Thapar, Bipan Chandra, and D.N. Jha are credible primarily because they are based on robust evidence, particularly primary sources. Their critiques of saffronization stem from concerns about the misuse of history for ideological purposes, which they argue distorts the understanding of India’s complex past. While their work may be interpreted as politically motivated by some, the foundation of their credibility lies in their rigorous adherence to evidence-based research.

Che Guevara!! Ha ha. I remember his visit to my university Jadavpur during Jyoti Basu's inglorious rule in West Bengal. Yes the man was very handsome and charismatic but thank god he is remembered now only as coming from Rosario in Argentina the birth place of Lionel Messi the footballer!! Sic transit gloria !! Thank god.

We can never truly knwo what was going on in the king's mind or the how much the king was influence by their courtiers. What's truth can never be known becasue we dont know what each and every segment of society thought during any point in history. History has being written by the privileged few in a diverse land like India. Its neither left nor right that can bring the real history, as they both will look at history with their own lens.
