It also sounds exactly like what it is -- the remnants of a discarded Navy having been refurbished to the best of her limited resources and pressed into service under a single ideological banner. The Rebels would never be this grand unless they could manufacture new vessels with a distinct advantage over their opponents (which the MonCal designs provided). The Rebels would have preferred a fleet of smaller vessels supporting massed starfighter operations, so while I can see Rebels maybe scraping together enough crew for a skeleton Victory or Venator, I can't imagine them procuring such a large mishmash of antiquated capital ships like Dala's fleet.

@@dylanwight5764 Well, if you look at the lore, the rebel alliance did have comparable mishmash fleets at different times. Often using their more iconic Nebulon B's in conjunction with older CIS warships. It makes sense that they'd gravitate to the Separatist vessels, they all had a high degree of inbuilt automation, and the Recusant destroyer had half the tonnage of a Venator, and less than 5% of the crew compliment.

I like Daala. While she tends to be a poor tactician, she is actually a decent leader in terms of getting people to follow her, and just about the only Legends Imperial to put the good of the Empire/Remnant ahead of her own power. As silly as her run at GA leadership was, I think the conflict between her, the Jedi and the comedically long list of people plotting against her was neat. And the Imperial Remnant Election of 44(?)ABY is one of my favorite moments from Legends, just because of how absurd the idea of Imperial elections are.

Then the Covenant never would have destroyed so many human colonies, the UNSC would have reverse-engineered a ton of Forerunner tech, thus advancing themselves far quicker, and the Flood may never have been released.

I believe that the flood would of been released regardless because the Spirit of Fire already had left the Pillar of Autumn to its fate at Arcadia. The damage sustained in the battle would of made it need repairs at reach regardless. The. The covenant invaded making it flee, making random jumps and by chance make it to Halo having the covenant follow and they would discover the flood then. So in essence if cutter wasn’t such a cuck and went after sanders the pillar would of never taken as much damage making it need such repairs as to go plannetside.

The battle of Arcadia was in 2531, the fall of Reach wasn't until 2552. Pillar of Autumn fought for another 20 years before it fled Reach and ended up at installation 04. Cutters decision to recover Anders had absolutely nothing to do with anything regarding how that played out. If the forerunner fleet had been captured by the UNSC then that likely would have ended the human covenant war but we know from Halo 3 that the flood had already broken containment at installation 05 and would have found a way into the wider galaxy eventually.

They won't create new characters like Thrawn, Corran Horn, Talon Karrde, and Mara Jade were in the 90's. They also won't take any risks like NJO did in killing off main characters for example.

I read all of Legacy of the force books. It was confusing at some points, such as the Second galactic civil war (which was a very VERY confusing conflict). But it was a decent story, and Ben Skywalker was my favorite main character in the books. I also hated Lumiya and how she manipulated Jacen to fall to the dark side, she wasn't a bad villain, but I hated her actions and was glad Luke that killed her on Terephon.

4:12 When Eck began narrating Daala's entrance into the battle I got chills (ik it's partially excerpts from the book), it gave me a thrilling Episode IX vibe, a hope that there are at least some old capital ships like a Venator or Mon Cal or something for the Resistance to fight with besides frigate and corvette-class vessels. I mean how cool would it be to have a scene like the one in the recent teaser where the Resistance has some ancient capital ships or pirate ships, or some rag-tag capital fleet to fight the good fight? Idk, it may not happen that way, but damn would it be cool! Not around the bridge any longer, yes. In fact, the model does show MORE than two 'shield generator domes' upon the surface of the Executor, with more mounted below the tower, and two behind it. But the shields had already been weakened or fallen (which means small arms fire could even hit the domes) before they are destroyed.

I always figured it was for two primary reasons. 1. The C.I.S. ships had an extremely negative connotation to them. The galaxy saw them as a sign of evil and as such would be near suicidal in a political sense. 2. The C.I.S. ships were not designed to be fast, instead acting as ships-of-the-line. The Alliance needed fast, maneuverable, not slow and powerful. The Recusant is really the only ship in the fleet, barring corvettes and light frigates, that can fill that role. What's mote, keeping those ships up to date would be a challenge. The Munificent was already out of its element in the Clone Wars, being a patrol ship and freighter first, and while it can be quickly and easily refitted with new weapons, the Providence and Lucrehulk would take time. By the time the Alliance became the New Republic and had the means to refit these old juggernauts, better alternatives were found. The Confederate Navy was a slapped together affair that just so happened to be really powerful due to diversity. The Lucrehulk, Recusant, Munificent, and maybe the Providence (I remember reading somewhere that the Providence was originally supposed to be a cruise-liner to rival their Mon Cala rival's creations, but was pressed into service by the Confederacy. It was coincidence that the ship was so effective at war) were not purpose built warships.

@@LoneWolf20213 The issue, again, comes down to how the Rebellion fights. Hit-and-run and rapid movement. The C.I.S. mainline ships aren't designed for that purpose. They aren't fast, barring the aforementioned Recusant, or maneuverable. What's more, propaganda. Palpatine was smart, albeit unintentionally, in making a vast majority of available ships for a rebellion seen as 'evil' by the galaxy at large.

@@LoneWolf20213 That is true. The CIS ships were versatile, and many could fit a dozen roles. The issue comes down to the timing and the utility. When the ships would have been the most useful was during the early days of the rebellion, hot on the heels of the Clone Wars. Fear and propaganda were the Empire's business, and the familiar form of a Lucrehulk would be a horrible sight for the denizens of the galaxy. In an ideal galaxy, yes the CIS ships would be dead useful, but the war was far from ideal. The Munificent lacked speed and shields to survive an engagement with Star Destroyers, the Recusant was too large and lacked significant fighter bays, the Lucrehulk is just damn slow and in a pound-to-pound fight would lose to ISDs, especially when a concentrated fleet comes. The Providence has many of the issues of the Recusant, save for its increased armor and weapons. The issue is it lacks the firepower to really compare to the Imperial cruisers. Sure, in time the stigma would be lost, but then would it matter? The Mon Cala cruisers had a strangle hold on the Rebel and New Republic navy for a time, and the Quarren lacked the experience to recreate new warships. Many CIS ships saw use in the fleets of warlords and other factions, but the cost to retrofit them was too much, especially when said ships were expected to fight ISDs. The CIS ships were amazing combatants for a bygone era. They were fighting an entirely different war altogether. As an example, imagine the Nazis using a World War 1 dreadnaught. Even retrofit, would it be any use against a battleship of the second world war? Yes, the CIS ships could serve as support or raiding vessels, but when the big battles come you need to bring your A-game. The Empire didn't bring Victory or Venator-class ships during Endor, they brought the heaviest hitters they could. The Rebellion could only do the same, see the MC series cruisers.

Legacy of the Force is a favorite of mine. I adore it and wish it would have a movie series. I thought it was an excellent way to bring in all the major characters yet alive and really create a compelling war. I was really, really sad though that Paelleon died, he was always one of my top characters alongside Palpatine, Tarkin, Vader, Thrawn... okay I like almost all the Imperial leaders. The way it tells the fall is so good and understandable, I love seeing the Empire as something other than evil villains. I really love the old EU, it was wild and free to explore, it could expand the universe immensely and while it ran into the occasional contradiction or really dumb flaws it was so wide and varied and surprisingly well connected despite that, even then you could just choose to ignore pieces you didn't like and take on the stories you did. I loved the sheer size of it and the world building. I love everything about the Maw Installation, I think Dalaa should have been much more capable than she was portrayed in the initial assault on the New Republic, the Knight Hammer should have been recovered, keep it a massive threat, but she was still a great character and a great story.
