Corruption is ALWAYS an issue when humans are allowed to control anything - especially money. “ cease and desist“ is a term used in a court of law, and therefore is irrelevant when directed by private individuals outside of a court. I suggest notifying the state attorney general that they are being far from transparent, and should be given a cursory audit to determine whether they are satisfying the regulatory requirements set down by federal and state authorities.

Those are all reasonable questions that you should probably ask any non-profit and not for profit before donating regardless of cause. So many non-profits, including some of the bigger, most well known organizations only put 10% or less of donations towards the actual cause. For example NJ Police Athletic League (PAL) spends 85% of donations on overhead, and they are not even the worst. There is a cancer research institute with an overhead of 96.5%... thats correct. Only 3.5% of your donations to this non-profit actually goes towards cancer research. Its sickening...
