Fun fact: Someone had the same species of parrot as the one in the first case (African grey parrot), and they are known for being the most intelligent avian species, and when that person died the parrot was brought to the funeral, and the parrot remembered the profanity it's owner used and mimicked them, and the funeral service was called off.

I remember watching a video about actual lawyers reacting to the parrot scene in Phoenix Wright. What I remember one of them saying is that "normally a parrot is not admissible in court because they can't take an oath, essentially they can't tell the difference between the truth or a lie".
