Sam has been invited to be on Crowder's show for a debate once before, but then Sam decided he wanted to have the debate on his show instead, because he obviously wanted to be able to point and say, "Look at the great Steven Crowder, coming on MY show to debate me." Crowder said that wasn't going to happen because of his work schedule so the debate was cancelled, and per Crowder's policy, if you turn down the first invitation to be on his show, he doesn't try to book you again. Sam blew his chance because his ego got in the way.

Being there legally and being invited are different things. In every sense of the word he’s “uninvited” and having a permit doesn’t change that. If you want to get all Steven about it and go with the definition of uninvited it is: (of a person) arriving somewhere or acting without having been asked. Steven hasn’t even been kind of asked and he Both acts and appears. His actions fit the literal definition of uninvited. And even if we were to accept your argument here (which we won’t) Sam Seder is in the podcast legally and by your definition has been “invited” As for unprepared, the pop quiz analogy doesn’t work, as the idea of a quiz is that one should be studying throughout in the off chance of a quiz being presented in a subject you have been taught. Steven goes in full armed with facts and studies (which he often grossly misrepresents) and attempts to goad college kids into full debates when they don’t have the same level or detail of information to have that he does. And even if we take your side to this point as well (which we won’t) that means steven didn’t need to prepare and should just take the debate he ummmm “willingly sat down to” He goes in with the premise of having his mind change when he has no intention of doing any such thing. This little example of him fleeing from a debate just highlights the charlatan he is.

Ethan and Sam cooked up a pathetically juvenile bait-and-switch to try and get Steven to debate Sam, because Sam has been mouthing off at Crowder for years, claiming Crowder doesn't want to debate him, which is not true. There was a debate between the two scheduled at one point, but Sam couldn't get over his own ego. He initially agreed to be on LWC, only to change his mind at the last minute and demand that Crowder appear on his show instead. Steven said no because the invitation was extended by him, and not Sam, and because Steven didn't want to interrupt his work schedule to make room for an appearance on another podcast. So Sam broke the agreement, and Steven never invited him back, because that's his policy: If you cancel that first invitation, you don't get another one. But Sam lied about it, and claimed that it was Steven that turned down his invitation because Steven was afraid to debate Sam; a lie he's repeated ever since. Ethan broke the terms of his appearance to try and get Sam on Steven's show and to cover his own ass, and Steven wasn't having it. He was under obligation to honor the terms when Ethan acted dishonestly first.

It may ring hollow to you in particular (unless you're just taking sides for partisan reasons/telling yourself what you wish were true) but Seder & loser do not "ring hollow" for the vast majority of those familiar with his deceitful actions.

Crowder has over 5 million subscribers on KZbin plus his behind the paywall club where he has more than that. So Crowder has over 10 million subscribers to Sam's suspicious 1 million & change.
