You know what really stuck in my craw is that years ago, the egg yolk was blamed for high LDL cholesterol, which was blamed for heart disease and clogged arteries. I watched friends of mine do just the opposite - they would toss out the yolk when having eggs eating only the whites. I never myself fell for that myth believing something so naturally occurring in nature could have harmful components. Some people just believed the black box to the point of idiocy. We really do have to think for ourselves and do our own research before we 'knee jerk' react to anything.

A problem with these media published studies is that the media, nor common joe know how to properly assess risks. As an example there was a "media viral" study recently that suggested eating bacon could increase your risk of bowel cancer by 0.3%. However, the present baseline risk of bowel cancer is it's self less that 0.1%. So, eating bacon increases your risk from 0.1% to 0.1003%. Wow. Also to hit that figure you need to be eating more than 5 portions of bacon a week!

I raise chickens, and feed them mostly grass...yep, they graze. I also cut grass, and make a kind of silage for them, which they love to eat in the winter, when they pretty much stop laying due to the shorter days and the cold. The yolks from my chickens are deep orange which comes from the grass they graze on. I raise three breeds, and they produce green, blue and brown eggs.

I have 40 chickens that are pasture-raised, but they don't seem to eat very much "grass" at all. It's already time to mow the backyard again! lol! Although they are constantly picking in the grass for insects, etc. They go crazy for romaine lettuce though. I throw a couple heads out every other day or so, along with a bunch of grapes. They go even crazier for watermelon. I throw a big one in the backyard about once a week. But they're spoiled. They get plenty of organic feed to supplement. My eggs are only occasionally "deep orange," but they are orange and they taste fantastic. I eat at least four a day. Yummy!

In addition to everything she said, it’s also a good practice to vary egg brands as different farms feed them slightly different, so you get a better nutrient spread.

I think that's good but more so to see how you would react to those different eggs from different farms, that way you could tell which ones you could eat more over the other. As far as "nutrient spread", whatever that is, 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't think that's necessary. All eggs have nutrients in them, even the ones that are not organic pasture raised. Interesting info! We raise laying hens and I have worked hard making sure our hens produce deli, healthy eggs. They get an organic whole grain diet (with nutrient balancer, kelp, and fish meal) and they have plenty of room to roam within a portable electric fence that we move several times a year, usually having at least half of their space in the woods. Anyway, I have several egg customers who get a couple dozen eggs per week. Recently, one of them told me they seem to have come down with an egg allergy. I was quite perplexed because I know that our hens live well and eat better than most and I hadn't changed their diet. So listening to this video has helped me sort things out a bit. I feel more confident that it has nothing to do with our eggs and is just some special issue with the customer’s health, possibly a leaky gut. Thanks!
@veronicaheaney3464
@veronicaheaney3464 Ай бұрын
It’s also possible that something that the hens ate carried over to the eggs. Next time they are moved to a new pasture may resolve the issue. Even the cleanest farms may have undesirables “blown in” as is evidenced by reports of microplastics in places like the arctic circle. Fortunately, much of this is temporary - or at least I hope so. Those of us who grow clean produce or are careful with livestock would prefer not to have contaminants blown in on the wind.

I always tell people to eat as few eggs as possible if they're commercial eggs, but if they're organic pasture-raised eggs, eat as many as you'd like. The more, the healthier, generally speaking. For most people that would be somewhere between 3-6 eggs a day, give or take. Fat folks will lose weight, skinny people will gain weight, and it's great for the labito too.

Eggs are the perfect whole food! Gotta think: inside each egg is literally everything, and in the right proportions, to grow a complete, new life! Stop discarding the whites, and for those who toss yolks because "cholesterol", stop tossing yolks! The yolk is basically the food, fat and nutrient source for the developing embryo, whereas the albumen (white) provides the protein and the moisture. Newly-hatched chicks actually still have some yolk remaining in their yolk-sac so they have something to live off of while the rest of the clutch finishes hatching. :)

Hi Lillie, Thank you for sharing your experiences with eggs. I've eaten eggs all sorts of ways and I love buttery scrambled eggs with Kerrygold. However, I think my favorite way to eat them is to soft-boil them. I believe that I have a sensitivity to uncooked egg whites, so soft-boiling addresses that issue while preserving the nutritional liquidy goodness of the yolks. I'll boil them 7-8 minutes with flash cooling with cold water to arrive at a jellied yolk to eat in hand with a Redmond's Real salt shaker in hand, or 6 minutes to have a fully liquid yolk to put on top of a burger to cut in half...and I only eat pasture-raised eggs (Vital Farms most of the time). Oh, and I don't mind a few chunks of egg shells getting crunched up in my mouth or the shell lining remaining on the egg, because it's ancestrally appropriate and adds nutritional value. I usually eat 4-6 eggs per day and sometimes skip a day to eat all beef, or once in awhile have 8+ eggs. About a year ago, I inadvertently reduced my egg consumption when I went to OMAD for most days (skipped lunch with included 2 hard-boiled eggs) and noticed my T levels drop, so I inceased eggs and my T levels came back up. Those yolks are so important for hormone development. I hope this helps someone. Thanks again! 👍

I love what you are saying - over the years my allergist has tagged me as allergic to eggs a few times but there were other times I was not allergic - I mean it didn’t show on the testing. I think there is much wisdom in what you are saying about eggs. I know now that if I overeat them I may become temporarily “allergic” but I am usually able to eat them just fine. I too have found that quality matters when it comes to eggs!

@AndreAngelantoni the media used in creating a variety of injections are generally purified such that by the time of injection things like your egg protein aren't there anymore in anything but a trace amount unless someone screwed up rather royally--which happens but it's very unusual. Actual example: I know someone who was affected by a bad injection once for a bird flu and after barely surviving (many who got that round did not...) is now essentially flu-immune. 😅

Every day I eat 6-8 eggs for breakfast/ lunch. Keeps me full until dinner usually. For that reason I don’t mind spending more on eggs to get the most out of the nutrition. I am not spending money on a bunch of other stuff this way and it’s important the food is as nutrient dense as possible

I want not just organic pasture raised, but also NO SOY in their feed! Soy contains phyto-estrogen, which has a long half-life, so can build up in chicken flesh, and, I would think, in eggs. I have not yet looked for research into phyto-estrogen in eggs, but would bet on it when the hens consume significant quantity of soy. Anyone reading this know other-wise?

LILLIE...Just a few ideas here..When I was a teen I was eating so poorly that every morning on the way to the restroom I would completely loose my balance and crash into the wall!!??! My desperate Mom decided to make this drink for me every morning, to try and get some nutrition in me.. She would separate the whites from an egg or two..then pour up some whole milk, put in only the yolks, with some chocolate syrup, and then blend it all up with an egg beater in a pitcher, (this was back in the 1960's)...serving it to me in a glass as a breakfast drink..It cured my balance problem right away and may have even saved my life during my teens!! (haha!!:>) Anyway...Minus the high fructose/glucose chocolate syrup ..a pretty healthy idea.. but she had to find a way to make it tasty to me.. I'm thinking there might be some better choices for flavoring these days..Maybe even one of the chocolate flavored LMNT packets or stevia and vanilla or something like that?? ..Anyway..Could be worth some experimentation!!:>) (BTW..those flavor packets might work mixed with your egg shells for flavoring too..:>) ..I'm going to see if I can find 'organic, pasture raised duck eggs now!!!.." since you told me they are so nutritionally superior!!! Thanks for the info dear heart!!!

Nearly died 5 years ago, eggs was literally the only thing I could eat and not puke up. Actually eggs and cheese, but it was mostly eggs. I even puked up ALL fruits and vegetables. Eggs, along with organic honey, Red Reishi mushroom, and weed. All these things I think helped save my life. I never even heard people could be allergic until like 3 years ago, when someone asked me how could I only eat eggs? Eggs quite literally healed my leaky gut

I had 2 this morning and 3 this evening with my 2 waffles with Fage yourgurt , seasonings and chopped cubed cucumbers. I also seasoning with my eggs as well. Pretty tasty. Since Im older I have to cook most of my veggies cause its easy on my gut. The only kind of cucumber I can eat as is , is seedless. Any other kind it hurts my gut. Same with Spinach . Regular spinach is murder on my gut but baby spinach is a lot better for me , true cook spinach is a blessing on my gut. Peaches is the same. I can eat as a fruit or in salsa , but in anything else its an up chuck.so I avoid the combo. I do ,do experiments with food like that. Love your content!💛❤🌻😊

I've been eating bee pollen. I heard eating bee pollen is good for inflammation and proves dozens of antioxidants. Some people can't have it due to bee allergies, but I was advised to start with just a pinch a day and work my way up to a tablespoon. No reactions at all and I don't mind the flavor: it's a somewhat sweetish, woody, nutty flavor. But I don't eat them by themselves. I sprinkle it on cereals or with a peanut butter and honey sandwich and it adds texture, almost like crunchy peanut butter.

I have recently found I have histamine issues which cause running nose sometimes when eating, rashes in skin folds,etc. Avocado, egg whites are high in histamine. Dr's rarely diagnose this. Apparently stop eating foods that cause histamine issues is a temporary diet. I stick with egg yolks and whip the whites and dehydrate to store as powder that eventually I will be able to eat again. Chris Cooking Nashville has an awesome mashed "potatoes " recipe that requires a lot of egg whites to get several servings. I dilute whipping cream rather than buy milk to get more fat and less stuff that might not be good.
