I'm loving trying out interesting Hearts of Iron 4 mods, and this week, it's some more Age of Imperialism! I said if the Germany video got 3k likes, I'd cover Portugal, so here we are! A world where the Great War just didn't happen. So let's explore Portugal in HOI4 mods!

Galicia becoming part of Portugal as a core is a reference to the closeness of the two people in the past: the languages, portuguese and galician, are descended from a common galaico-portuguese language. The first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques, tried to take control of galicia a few times before giving up against the Leonese. At that point the two peoples were indistinguishable but as centuries passed and the regions belonged to different centers of power they diverged.

I have a challenge for you: Using the "library sharing" that Steams allows you have to start playing the game again unlocking all the achivements. The trick, however is that you can't activate any DLCs after you unlock all the previous achivements. (for example you start with the base game and the free DLCs that were added there and once you get all the doable achivements you can activate the DLCs in the chronological order they were released). This way you can have content for a long time in case you don't know what to do.

Nice video once again, Mr. Joke :D (22:49). Yet, I didn't get what are the goals of Portuguese tree here? Reclaim all of the territories that are within that weird agreement with Spain? If you want to play some cool mod, I'd recommend to try Ukraine Above All. Which focuses on the alt history "What if Ukrainian State kept it's independence after WW1", even with an ingame lore in the beginning. I mean, of course, it just adds one nation, but the implementation is on the pretty high level (maybe like base game Soviet Union). It has soviet, independent communist, democratic (restoration of Ukrainian people's republic), two anarchists (nation based and world based), at least three neutral and two nationalist trees. Maybe some new trees were added with new dlcs, since I haven't played hoi4 in a while. It has two different economic and army approaches. It has many interesting decisions, such as communist purge (which is done through army xp), democratic central rada (which is similar to US Congress), and much more. My favourites are "nationalisation decisions" which is basically a decision to how would you like to nationalise some territories that are ethnically Ukrainian (or at least partially). This includes choices to rename cities and for some of them - unique ways of nationalisation (such as Crimean or Carpathian regions). There is even a half-unique agency program, that allows you to restore control over Western Ukraine (which is occupied by Poland in the beginning) if you don't give to polish a certain individual. If you'd ask me, I'd recommend for you to choose nationalist power struggle path, which not only gives you more claims on ethnic territories, but also gives you unique interactions between 3 nationalist factions, control of each can be differed through a course of the game.

If you are wondering why you kept spawning divisions without tanks/mech inside them it almost certainty because you had not researched/designed the vehicles. You needed to have designed a light tank destroyer and researched mech before taking those focuses.

Lisbon itself was really rich prior to the earthquake in 1755 but economic policies after then beginning in 1770 energised industry lowering her reliance on Swedish iron for example. It was a certain Frenchman, the loss of Brazil and basically liberals. It was liberals. If Pedro II of Brazil straddled the world it would have been much better. Do, as Ireland, without becoming fascist but democratic take over all five Celtic regions, Irish-America and Australia.

I need a "What if WW2 never happened" mod, a cold war era mod, where Hitler took Austria and the Sudentenland and stopped, Appeasement worked. Maybe there was a peaceful diplomatic talks between poland and germany for the Danzig Corridor that, instead of giving them slovakia, its more akin to the Imperial path where it was for Gurantee's, and Stalin...just never called the bluff or whatever, and so you have a somewhat stagnated Soviet Russia, an Isolationist USA, and etc.
