I think Thoraya means "everyone else" as the general public. For instance, for a long time, EVERYONE loved One Direction, but I was different in the fact that I loved (and still do) Broadway Showtunes. I hope that cleared it up.

I was thinking about my answer during the video and I noticed I wasn’t the same in middle school. But it wasn’t til high school I realized no one is the same. We’re all different whether it be something physical, mental, or emotional. I think in middle school I felt more alone because I didn’t think I fit in but in reality we make ourselves think all “these” people are the same because we put them in a box ourselves and we don’t necessarily fit into the box we put them in. I find if most people really look at who we surround ourselves with we’re all pretty different and we can even have a relationship with people who are nothing like us at all.
I have a special respect for the people who said that they were in fact like everyone else

I realized the moment I started going to school. My bubble became bigger and because I’m on the spectrum, I realized two things. I was never gonna feel that necessity to social. Aaand, I was always going to talk and act a bit obviously different. Neither were my cause of sadness. I can proudly say I’ve always been proud of who I am. I’ve never had to suffer the sadness of loneliness because I have a much higher patience and I’ve never really been bullied because I spent most of my childhood making friends by always being extra kind. Without the fear of rejection as much, you are so open to making someone feel good without the worry of return.

I feel that we are both exactly like everyone else, while also being completely different. We are different because we have all lived around different environments and people. We all also have a certain soul that commands our morals, passions, and actions We are similar because, in many ways, we all live the same life. Our lives begin, we breathe, we experience, and then we die. Life is lonely, but death is lonelier. I think it would be easier to cope with the idea of death if we realized that we are all dying together. We are all dying. We are not alone in that.

8 years old. My social skills were not developing along with my peers and I asked "too many" questions and talked back to teachers/other authority figures when I thought they weren't being a "good person." I had no sense of inherent respect for anyone; they had to earn it by showing me they were "nice". Just the way my little walnut worked. I was a handful for my parents, I'm sure. I learned later that a lot of others were struggling with developing their social skills back then, too, and still are. And my lack of social skills back then translated into me fostering a deep love of nature, literature and art. I gained a sense of self and ability for introspection early on. It was a very, very hard time, though. I'm 28 and very happy now. Still don't have any automatic respect for my elders, unless they are truly "elderly." You get props just for making it that far. But you still don't deserve my respect just for existing, nor I yours. I have to show you I'm trustworthy, kind, reliable. Anyways. I like who I am and also recognize in a lot of ways I'm exactly like everyone else, too.

4th or 5th grade when the kids at school started treating me differently, picking on me, calling me names and I found myself being friends with all of the other outcasts because they were the only ones willing to accept me in their circle.
@Thorayaa6 жыл бұрын
MystehMonz I’d rather be friends with outcasts that are accepting than “cool” kids who are selective any day ❤️

MystehMonz Yeah I was bullied in elementary and made fun of in middle school. Being friends with the “outcasts” is actually so nice and cool. They were awesome. And still are.

It's so interesting how many of these people seek to differentiates themselves from others - essentially, they recognize themselves as individuals, particular beings. This is a critical stage in human development, and many base this off of traits or interests, yet they can be grouped as part of a subset of others, separate from the whole. Yet we are all so incredibly human, foundationally driven by very similar questions - even the belief that we are different is itself something we have in common with those around us. The details change, but the fundamentals are the same.

I realized that I wasn’t like everyone else when I realized the role that experiences play in the character of a person. I would say that my life and experiences are very different from other people’s.

I realised I was different when I realised everyone is unique. When I realised everyone had something different inside of them and I was just another different soul in a huge world. Many people might look the same but they are just trying to fit in a society with a certain basic sense of fashion. But everyone is unique. People just need to find themselves instead of following others and the society

I realized that I wasn’t like everyone else when I was first emitted into a psych ward, when I started to feel that society didn’t want me to be around others because I was am still am a danger to myself. I just knew I was different when I began to feel isolated from the rest of the world.

I clearly remember. I was standing in my bedroom, half facing the desk, half facing my front window alcove, and I got deep in my gut, I wasn’t like everyone else. I was 7. I “knew” things, and had seen my dead uncle Joe when he died. Since then, I have found thousands of people like me.

We are more alike than we are different. I used to think I was different, an outcast etc. I grew up and realised that we are all the same. We are individuals and unique and at our core, our authentic selves are the same. We are human with human needs.

Were all like eachother in reality, we have differences but ultimately were the same, same problems, same interests and we follow the same path

When I turned 18 yrs old I realised I was different and learnt more about myself and wasn't ashamed of being myself. We're all humans and the same(no one is better than the other) but at the same time we're not the same and what I mean is that each one of us is special and unique in a different way ( different opinions, different talents,different tastes....) but remember to always be humble.
@reallifelove3 жыл бұрын
It's exactly this kind of insightful project that helps you realize that you are very much like everyone else. People think they've matured when they define their uniqueness, but it seems to me that real maturity comes when we see the bigger picture. We're all human, we're all awkward. We're all unique, and we're all the same.

6:38 if you're cool, you're actually not that cool. That's the most beautiful part of being different. Nobody can be like you bc they are afraid of being what they love, deep down inside
