This was easily one of the best episodes of CatDog ever made, but nothing beats It's a Wonderful Half-Life. Here's a fun fact: In an interview, casting supervisor Lisa Kossey said that she'll find herself singing Pretty Little Piece of Paradise anytime she hears the word "paradise". Imagine being like that yourself.

The first time I saw Wonderful Half Life last year, I shed actual tears. A simple but deep message (especially from a show with a “mean spirited” reputation) and makes me appreciate my siblings even more. Also Dog’s song in the beginning just fills me with joy.

If we’re talking gross-out: in the catdog universe Dog literally eats garbage and i dont mean junk food. In some episodes, mounds of garbage is dipicted as piles of greenish or brownish slop with familiar garbage items poking out (apple cores, tin cans, bones etc.) and dog just gobbles it up much to cats disgust

Wow! I never knew Derek Drymon even wrote for CatDog brilliant discovery as always Shawn! Also brilliant religious war allegory to read into episode of CatDog Shawn. I never would have thought to look at it that way. Though personally I think that billboard in the sky at the end of the episode could very well be a metaphor for them reaching Heaven at the end after they truly did die from their escapades.

Ive got a thought about this episode. Not about CatDog and thier misadventure on thier island, but the cars continiously driving around it. Throught the episode, the constant barrage of cars keeps driving around that same garbage heap. A lot of cars surround the incoming circle honking. But why? How long have the drivers been waiting, dining on fast foods and water while they wait to enter the circle and never leave?

I almost completely forgot about Pretty Little Piece of Paradise. And yeah, this episode DOES feel like a prototype Rock Bottom. This episode DID come out like a year before that one. I didn't remember the romance beat (does anyone know where it is besides this and episodes?) or it being tied to romantic situations. But it works in the sense of romance relating to adventures (if you've read/watched One Piece, you likely know what I'm getting at). At any rate, it was fun seeing this episode again, and I DID see it in a way I didn't back in the 90s.

I found the whole concept of CatDog disturbing. The Scientifically Accurate parody said it best: "Reverse Human Centipede with a cat and a dog." How do CatDog's digestive organs work? If one of them eats, does the other shit out of his mouth? Do they even have digestive organs? How are they even alive? I know you aren't supposed to think about it, but that only makes you think about it even more.
