Jicama makes really lovely slaw. I live in the US Southwest, and it’s in all our grocery stores, probably thanks to our Mexican neighbors.

In thailand its salapao, in the philippines its siopao normally seen in 7 eleven or chowking and if bangkok has yaowarat then manila has binondo theyre both old and lots of food as well they have each other in common

Marion can you tell us where you got those condiments containers with the handle from that you’ve had in a couple of your videos? I can’t find a listing for it in products you sell either. I neeeeeed it. ☺️

We also called them ice potatoes when I was 18 & living in Chiang Mai with my folks. It was one of the few crunchy things to snack on. I'd never seen it before but it's common in the grocery stores now.

What's an alternative to salted egg yolks? There's no Asian market nearby for me to get salted eggs from.

Have you tried with local sweet potato, pumpkin, beet so you can make colourful salapao bun?

‘Gu long bao, Song Wat branch’, I believed this is where she went. For location, you can copy-paste this name on google map.

Nice recipe! The Bangkok salapao shop in the video is Ku Long Pao (กู่ หลง เปา) on Charoen Krung Rd in Samphantawong District, and has been in business over a century. Along with the salted egg/pork version mentioned in the video, they also offer buns with taro, bean & white sesame paste, and BBQ pork fillings, plus plain buns (mantou) and toasted buns.
