Hi dearest Wim Hof We are a family of Singaporean Chinese and we totally experience for ourselves being immune to cold really improve our immunity. That is why we as a family, do not even have one vaccination, including my 86 Years old mother who is so healthy , recover after only three four days from covid. I was also a pneumonia patient in 1991, when I was 12 years old, because of Singapore monsoon rain daily and only once I did not bring my umbrella and I was drenched to the skin. I developed pneumonia because my traditional Chinese mother always sheltered me , closing the windows at home , asking me to bring an extra shirt when I go out, always ask me to open umbrella , wear raincoats, etc. Then slowly I start to open up to love cold because singapore buses and all indoors ,library, NUS lecture halls, busses, shopping malls, offices are all below 20 Celsius. Traditional Chinese from PRC china and ROC taiwan wrote in internet about singapore indoors being described as morgue. It is so ridiculous that people from cold countries are not used to cold than Singaporeans in tropical everyday 30+ Celsius . What I am going to expose is please do not think Taiwanese are friendly people. They are slow to make friends, never mind about that, they are the first to complain or report to police about anything in Taiwan. We ,husband and wife , were being reported to police in Taiwan for just exposing my baby few months old to cool weather of only 20 Celsius, yes only 20 Celsius, they say it is kid abuse. When our baby is sleeping so soundly in the cool weather outside, where is the kid abuse ?? Taiwan parents are the ones who kid abuse because they will scold or beat their kids when their kids even ask the parents can they take off their jackets at even 25 Celsius and masks. We respect their values and lifestyles by not reporting them to police because it is their own Taiwan values. But they clearly do not respect our way, Baltic Countries way of exposing kids to cold, what I say cold is not 20 Celsius !! Babies are left in the cold in minus 10 when the parents are in the coffee houses drinking coffee. It is true Babies are warm in the prams but no Asian will ever do that because the outside is still minus 10,20 Celsius. We as a couple shouted at the Taiwan police , we respect your living styles BUT you have no right to control our way of building immunity for our baby. We don't even act so extreme as Baltic parents but 20 Celsius is so ridiculously cool that we see no issues with our baby being topless. Singaporeans and Malaysians are all wearing just a light t shirt and shorts at all indoor shopping malls when the traditional Chinese continue wearing fur coats, down jackets and scarves and caps even when they go into their 25 Celsius indoors. Even hongkongers find shenzhen shopping malls to be super hot !! We as a family have benefited from exposure to cold, we have overcome traditional Chinese over fear to cold, No matter as a family or as a country, singapore. We are full Chinese yet we firmly believe in Western way of life ( although not all western countries believe in cold expousre) which is get used to things in life and not ultra avoidance from birth to death. Don't get me wrong, every culture has its avoidance things, but not even one culture has so many things to ultra avoid like the Taiwanese 1) cold, definition of cold is 23,24 , my French friend was so annoyed his kindergarten teacher told him to wear jacket for his son at 27 Celsius in taipei. I have photo proof 2) Grey skies uv rays strongest, sunny skies, strongest feat of tanned skin 3) drizzle and rain 4) carbs, sugar 5) butter and cream 6)spicy food and spices 7) raw food , the old Taiwanese don't eat raw food 8) Sour food, thai Tom yum in Taiwan is atrociously bland 9) air pollution and even toasted bread smell. A bakery in Taiwan was fined 100,000 ntd for toasting the bread too fragrant 10) wind. Chinese concept. My Chinese educated mother finally knows how irritating she is when she is lectured by Taiwanese that she should not blow wind . She rebutt back she comes out is to blow wind.
