RE: Car odors - I bought my Pajero Evolution off Cars & Bids and it reeked of stale cigarettes. I NOW understand it is somewhat common with old JDM cars, but as a non-smoker it didn't occur to me to ask prior to purchase. I realize an odor may be one persons opinion, but it might be nice for C&B to ask sellers if there are any noticeable odors and mention it in the flaws section.

Take this information however you want, but cars like the McLaren Senna, Speedtail, and Elva are all cars that are highly modified versions of the 720S which is to say they pulled a Lamborghini when they came out with cars like the Veneno, Centenario, and Sian FKP 37 which were all heavily modified versions of the Aventador. However, like the F1 and P1, the W1 is on its own bespoke chassis unrelated to the 720S.

The P1 for me has aged poorly because mclaren adopted similar styling cues for the rest of the lineup and to the average person they’re sorta difficult to differentiate. Not to mention they used that engine in essentially every car they’ve made since 2010, and a 765LT gets you about 98% of the performance for a third of the price and I’d assume the driving experience is largely similar, given that they share the gas powertrain

Fillipo, you don't "lose money" if you buy a car and the value goes down. You are exchanging the money you pay, for the value you get from using the car, whether it's basic transportation or the fun of driving it. Cars are a consumption asset, so the value should generally go down. If you want an investment, put your money in the stock market. If you want to enjoy life, buy a fun car.

The more you read into the w1, the more impressive the car is. The e-motor and entire front end are essentially ripped from an f1 car. The active aero is also the most extreme we’ve seen on any car and produces 150lbs less than a Valkyrie which is essentially just a diffuser with seats. To scoff at the 2 million price tag is revelatory of the guys mindset though. It’s competition is 30% more expensive but heck, what’s the difference between 2 and 3 million?

Senna is still a super series car. It's more of a track car vs Speedtail being a GT. Sabre is also just a one off super series car. Elva open top Super series. They have to make some profit in between the Halo models. W1 might be the last V8 TT Halo car.

Hey I was an intern at McLaren a couple months ago, got to hear some stuff about the W1. Its project code was P18 and they didn’t have an actual name for it while I was there. I think P18 sounds cooler honestly. The V8 is indeed completely new, just not crazy different. I probably can’t say much more details about it. People keep talking about McLaren models feeling samey, but I’ve heard that since the 570 came out. Hell, I think Top Gear said that the 12C was generic and soulless. I’d rather they keep making mid engined sports cars that are, by all accounts, great to drive than see them come out with a mass market SUV like everyone else.

Yes but only 700hp is about all we might see. A front motor would have to be used to get similar power to W1. Weight would go up and R&D . Ferrari is rumored to be using TT V6. If true many are going to be a little disappointed.

The key to owning more cars than drivers is to buy reliable cars. I have 8 cars, and they are powered by extremely reliable powertrains (3800, Ford 4.6 2V, Toyota 3.4, Mercedes M113, etc). And use them, don’t let them sit more than a week or two.

Multiple cars is totally ok. You might consider swapping your Fiat with an EV of some sort and then you can have a guilt free V8. I have a similar arrangement, M3P for around city, old Jeep Wrangler for the trails, liter bike for canyon roads, K75 for getting coffee, 2stroke dirt bike for taking jumps and VFR because who can resist the sound that V4 with gear driven cams. Mostly drive the M3P, the rest are just toys, it’s ok to have toys..

Aren't the Vinfast cars sold without a battery, and you lease the battery? They're supposed to use battery swapping stations (for speed and convenience), but the U.S is a BIG place, so unless you invest like Tesla did (with the Superchargers), that particular idea is dead in the water. I gather that if you bought the car WITH a battery, they'd be so uncompetitive you'd just turn away and buy anything else.
