You can get a universal knob with a set screw off of Amazon for the headlights and wiper. I picked up an 87 swb 4wd money pit, it’s a pain in the ass but I’d rather drive it over my ‘22 250.

I think that loose rod going from injector (carb) to the transmission is the passing gear linkage. When you stomp the accelerator it forces the trans to downshift one gear. I believe it should have some play in it

On the faded red vinyl door panels....take a soft flame from a propane torch and GENTLY apply the flame to the plastics surface. It will actually rejuvenate the color back, (but don't melt it). Search for some videos on this, its a permanent fix too.

The rod is the kickdown for passing gear. As far as cruise goes, it could be an electrical issue...

Take a heat gun to the white areas of plastic panels and they will change color

That rod looks like a kick down to me. Hard acceleration and that rod downshifts the transmission

Rod looks like trans kickdown. Cruise control is vacuum operated, check the lines to the diaphragm for leaks, us a hand pump to check the diaphragm. Love the videos, keep on keeping on.

Kick down rod, for passing gear or back shifting and tht movement is normal. Wires are from old horns that were on front of rad support from factory. Vehicles from that era cam with two horns, a High an Low tone and usually on the same bracket. I bet there still behind the grill.
