This game is waaay more fun that AoE in my opinion. Being able to use mythological units like Egyptian sphinxes and Nordic dragons is dope. I mainly bought it to play skirmishes against the AI as i do with every other strategy game.

For those new players, check the learning tab in the main menu 😁 it really helps, besides we have a good amount of MODS already for you to customize your games... The gamr is really good for its genre guys, dont get influenced by those bad commemts 😅 most of them are kust jelous fanboys from other RTSs.

Normaly i dont buy some advanced access packs like here. But AoM was different case. Additional MS did a great job to the of the AoE Franchise. Buy it, over your money to Hades!😊 And i can confirm its worth! By the gods they did it again :D They have also a included mod manager and there are mods to Bring the legacy voice lines in different languages by different modders. Was very happy be able play with old german ones :3 And they fit very well 😊

Same dude, i grew up with this game, it was the game that introduce me to pc gaming. But my biggest down side about the game is that the campaign is the exact same has the original game, and i dont know if i wanna spend money on the same story when i can play it in the old. : /

It was never going to be different. There have also been plenty of qol changes and even some mechanics have been cleaned up and improved. Also controller support for portable playing.

I think this time it's about the promise of more content and extended support. they're planning on making right on the Chinese civ plus expanding the roster even further with other mythologies. I myself won't be getting it immediately, as I have the Extended Edition, but I think once the expansions start coming out, that will be the perfect time to get it.

Rise of Nations in today graphics would be absolutely awesome! If done right! Would be awesome if they expanded the nuke counter to not just end the game instantly, but have the map crumble appart over like 30 seconds or something.

I laughed when you mention that AOM was the least played/favorite of the whole franchise bc it was MY most played game when i was 8 LMAO I got into AOE bc of my stepdad and he bought AOM on whim. It later became my go to I screamed when I found out about the retold. I already owned EE so it was a no brainer

One wierd thing that I hope gets fixed is that this game does not have a Full Screen mode. I have 2 monitors and when I want to drag the map to left my cursor jumps to the second monitor and can get awkward bringing it back.

I've been having the time of my life for the past week playing AoM. Long time player, and this could be the nostalgic feeling but this genuinely just the most fun I've had on a game probably all year long. Brings me back to 2008, nothing like waking up sick on a school day knowing I get to play AoM for like 10 hours straight as a kid hahah, loving every second of gameplay. I'm at 50 hours already!

AND all the atlanteans.... with this wierd accent.... Realy!? The voice accting went down hill from there.... I'm glad people are enjoying this game again, but it's really just the exact same as the old game with better graphics. I tried playing it but I played the old game so much that it's not new or fun to me, I played it to death and I've lost all enthusiasm for it now. If they had new campaigns or new monsters, gods, powers, stories etc I'd be more interested.

Same for me, I might get it on sale one day, but being how I just beat the original for the umpteenth time not so long ago I got no interest in buying better visuals for what is essentially the same game. I know some of the multiplayer people gotta be happy that it’s got more people playing it, it was pretty much a dead multiplayer game with original since it’s so old. Hope it lasts for them but I assume eventually everyone will go back to age of empires 2.

AOM was ensemble studios take on warcraft 3 with heros and other units have special abilitys

Eh kind of but not really. It was an experiment with a new 3d engine, and the idea about asymmetric civs that a lot of aoe II purists and simpletons were not on board. AoM was kind of a precursor to AoE III with that engine and the assymetric style of civs where you still have your explorer and his abilities, but also cards and decks. It was TOO BIG OF A CHANGE with these two games for them..OOH MY GAWD NAWWR DURR. Somewhere on the web, probably even here on youtube, u can find the devlogs about AoM. For me, AoM and AoE III are the best of them all. ES experimented, had a vision with AOM, and made it SUPREME; Learned from AoM and made AoE III.

& Sumerian, Canaanite, & Celtic as well; I'd suggest a lot more too, but I'm trying to keep it within the space spanned by the combined original extended edition & the Chinese DLC pack, as well as avoiding any *redundant* ones like the Romans (who'd basically be a combination between Greeks & Atlanteans, the latter of whom fill many of their aesthetics anyway), & the Germanics (who'd be functionally & largely aesthetically *identical* to the Norse).

Imho if you’ve played any AoE part, you’ll get into AoM quite quickly. The basics are the same. I personally think it is much more fun than any other AoE instalment. If you like ancient mythology and AoE, you can’t go wring with this.

It’s got the same fundamental foundation as AoE, collect resources, build stuff and make units, the only difference is god powers and mythic units. I’ll still prefer AoE2 over anything else but AoM is pretty fun as well.
