I saw in interview where she said she took off a mink coat and gave it to a guy to hold for her, and at the end of the show he ran with it. I think it was in Las Vegas. :-) Patti LaBelle is a National Treasure!

This was a fabulous special. Patti never was one of those pretentious stars, because she always knew she was one if musics greatest singers even it took the world decades to acknowledge it. No ego she was never scared to collaborate with others and let them shine. One of the great Divas!

Being a singer myself using Patti's "vocal style" as my template. I have to say that Cyndi SERIOUSLY held her own singing with her. Patti has such a POWERFUL voice there just isn't many singers out there that can gel with her especially during a duet. But i was VERY impressed with Cyndi's ability to do so. Very beautiful harmonization between the two divas.

The Patti LaBelle Show (1985) is a outrageous TV special on NBC, it gotten so big back in 1985. I sure wish that Sid & Marty Krofft, the creators of H.R. Pufnstuf, Lidsville and Land of the Lost, they could've made it into a weekly variety-hour show for Patti LaBelle, just like they did for Donny & Marie Osmond, the stars of the Brady Bunch, Pink Lady & Jeff, and Barbara Mandrell & the Mandrell Sisters.

The best rendition of Time After Time is the acoustic recording. Not this. Yall just surprised that white girl hung with Patti, and if you know music, you will realize Cyndi sings higher than Patti. Her voice isn't as big because she's a lyric soprano, Patti is a dramatic soprano, dramatic voice types olare big, but lower than the others such as coloratura and lyric

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!! I watched it the night it aired, I videotaped and watched it over and over for years! Years later, as expected, the tape didn't play very well so I searched online to see if it was being sold on DVD. When that didn't work out, I wrote to Patti/Patti's management team BEGGING for a copy...no such luck. I've found snippets of the show on KZbin but you are the only one I've found who uploaded the entire show. I've seen Patti in concert several times and she never disappoints! This was a wonderful showcase for her and a few friends, and they really turned it out for the limited time they had. So again I say - THANK YOU!!!

Ok, this is what really impressed me. This was Patti's show. Patti would have been well in her right to just take over "time after time" but she yielded to Cyndi and musically prompted Cyndi to just do her thing and elevate herself. That is amazing and truly gracious of Patti.
