Harry Biolietti was the owner until the mid sixties, and We all had our DA & crewcut haircuts there, (including Paul!). Albert Marion had the photo shop opposite with our group photo in the window (Johnny Temper & the Hicats). Harry Bioletti lived in Stamfordham Drive, Allerton and had two sons; Lawrence & Stephen and We all grew up together. Paul McCartney lived up the road in Forthlyn. Happy days & great memories. Shame We do not seem able to keep some famous landmarks of Liverpool history...Even the Fire station is now flats, but at least the building is still there!

I got my hair cut sat on the plank there in the late 60s. If I kept still I got a sherbert fountain from next door. I must have known the grandchildren? in around 1981 from the CB. Older girl about 14 and younger brother. Funny Bioletti made no claims to fame in his shop. Just a tattered cutting or 2 from the Echo. Happier times.

Unfortunately this is a sign of the times, and as it says in another classic Beatles song; "There are places I'll remember all my life, though some have changed, some have gone and some remain." We can only hope that whatever becomes of it, that it remains something of it's association with The Beatles classic song.

GOOD NEWS!!!! I have spoken with the previous owner who has told me that they are only making good where there had been some fire damage to the upstairs flat. There is still a plan for it to remain as a Barbershop!! 🎉

It is on Smithdown Place, known locally for many decades as the Penny Lane roundabout.
