The Police Cant Believe What I Found Magnet Fishing!! (SUSPECT IN CUSTODY) Today I went magnet fishing and found cash and a safe. Also magnet fishing I found another stolen safe with my super magnet. It was a crazy magnet fishing find for sure. Finding cash while magnet fishing was my first ever. So I had to call the police while magnet fishing the police cant believe what i found. The cops came and took my magnet fishing finds. The police said they have a suspect in custody who stole the safe I found magnet fishing. This was my 3rd safe found magnet fishing. That appeared to be the type of safe that you find in some cheap hotel rooms. I could see somebody traveling and just tossing their "personals" bag in the safe before they left the room for an extended period. I've seen motel room safes just held down with a few small screws. All they are really good for is to help housekeeping staff resist temptation.

Pro Tip: when you find potential evidence, don't start touching it. You know what it is when you see it, the owner would never just dump it like this, they would resell it or give it away. It's all evidence, don't touch.

Congratulations Jesse! You are exactly right. It is always best to disturb as little evidence as possible, if you think you might have to report something. My eyes went immediately, to the prescription bottle that was in plain sight. Even though he was not going to leave his own fingerprints on anything, his dirty gloves would have messed up everything that they touched. However, if you think about it, he didn't need to take any "pictures," at all ... In fact, he probably edited out the part where the Deputy Detective asked him for a copy of his unedited video file. That's rock solid "chain of evidence" stuff, right there! Of course, he did. He just couldn't show it, because that could have led to trouble from the plaintiff somewhere in the future. The Deputies would have let him know that when they gave him permission to keep recording. 😉 What really got to me, was the $2 instant-Karma pick up, just for thinking that he might have to call the authorities. In my opinion, that was wicked-cool ... considering how it turned out. I've seen plenty of bad instant Karma happen. A bit of which, I've earned all by myself. Mostly, I wanted to thank you for your "critical thinking," while remaining positive about his ... overarching goals. If you're still reading, and wondering why, then I thank you. I'll end quickly, by saying that I pick a person(a) to reply to once a day. You just happened to win the day, today. Peace be with us all ... Let no harm be done.

I found a magnet while fishing, seen this weird rope coming from the water to the shore, we pulled and pulled and no luck, went back a few weeks later when the water level was down and found the rope went down into some scrap concrete and rebar, my daughter untangled the rope and helped me pull the magnet off the rebar, it has been sitting in my trunk since last fall when we found it, she can't wait till spring time to try out some magnet fishing

That's actually hard to do in many jurisdictions (the telling them where to fish part) because you can be said to make the civilian an agent of the police (ie you can be viewed to have deputized them) and that comes with a whole bunch of responsibilities and potential liabilities. Better most of the time to just let them do their thing, but you can remind them to call the police whenever they find anything. Most importantly, don't be rude when they find something of no police value because their next find might be important.
