Hey Tim been vegan for about a week and everyone was talking about how I'm getting so little protein and how I'll lose muscle. But when I lifted today I did three sets of 8 reps of my max which I used to struggle with 5! It actually felt easier to do 8 today than it did to do 5 last week.

Surprised.When I cut back on protein I lost fat, but strength, as well. Started looking more toward skinny fat.

Hey Nathan good on you. There is no need to be protien deficient. If you are unsure look for protien foods with high lysine, this is a very important amino acid which builds collagen and much of your body, vegan protiens contain less lysine but they do contain enough, high lysine foods include lentils, quinoa, chick peas, potatoes, soy, satan, tofu and many more. If you are lifting then an easy way to meet your protein needs would be to drink a litre of soy milk a day, you could use that as your base for an afterwork out protien shake and before bed but try to choose one with no added sugar and soy from wholebean as the non wholebean ones are from a soy protein powder stripped of the good nutrients of the bean. because vegans eat more fibre and generally less sugar you might find you are not storing your energy in fat so well (not a bad thing) this could mean you have to increase your carb pre workout so you don't burn muscle as energy, because you are changing your foods you must re address your nutrient balance and habbits, you can't just remove animals from your diet. look to the german champ vegan weightlifter for inspiration.

I will do a search to see what yoga you do, it's good to be in to lots of things and each thing helps another, my running friends mostly do running, my walking friends just walk and my parkour friends mostly do parkour etc, at one time all I did was play games now I am more lucid and life is now my game

Hi Tim and anyone reading this. I'm a veterinary student currently choosing a lab animal/bioethics thesis topic. I think I'm in quite an interesting/unique position to shed some light or highlight some specific topic that could do with the attention and research. Basically this is the beginning of a new study with up to a year to complete. Any thoughts? Thanks for the video content. Always enjoy hearing your views and updates. :)

Tim I know it must be a pain. But any ideas on how you became a vegan? I am in bad health and would really like to know what cookbooks you started with. Ive also been a fan of parkour, would really love you addressing about which food to start with which cookbooks are good and if you make one that would be cool. Sorry bro for writing a massive paragraph. Love

I think it's so cool to see other vegans around. I live in the American south and I've been vegan for two and a half years. In the south you almost get discriminated against, for being a vegan because it's against the social norm here. It feels great to watch Tim's videos and read the comments and realize: hey there's a bunch of other people like me too. And we all are united behind the same cause. But anyway, stay vegan my friends :)

Tim, or anyone with guidance, I am a 17 year old guy from the UK who is a vegetarian, my main source of protein is in eggs and quorn products, if I was to go vegan, what would be a good direct substitute of eggs that I could eat? I'm really keen to change my diet, I've even shown your videos to some friends to spread the word and save the planet in my own way. When I can buy my own food I'll cut out the dairy and go full-vegan! Any reply would be a great help :-)

Hey man. I'm 22 I've been a vegan for 2 and a half years and I wish I started younger. Honestly I don't think you need a protein supplement. As long as you are eating a wide enough variety of fruits and vegetables with the occasional grains you should be ok. Be sure to drink almond, soy, rice, or coconut milk. It helps a lot with the protein and calcium. But do your own research and decide yourself.
@JaCoBsAdOw10 жыл бұрын
alright, thanks bro for taking your time on replying. I've been vegetarian for a full year and going to become vegan.
