I have autism as well as the kid in the movie and yes, it is so inaccurate. Sometimes he’s low on the spectrum, meaning he can listen to loud sounds and look people in the eye, but then he’ll be high on the spectrum, be unable to do the things I listed and have no emotions. (Like how he doesn’t react to people dying) And if autism can make people multilingual with alien languages, then why can’t I speak Irish, my native language for the life of me?

Also, something to consider. The aspergers is considered a higher form of evolution in this movie. How the fuck is a kid who can't stand loud noises supposed to be something great? Everything is loud! Certainly wouldn't have him be of interest to a warlike race.

As a former prison guard I can confirm that prisoners are NOT chained to the seats on transport. The way transport restraints work is your wrists are cuffed to a chain that goes around your waist, effectively cuffing your hands to your sides. Your ankles are also restrained. I have had to react to an inmate slipping his restraints and choking another inmate that was a gang drop out.

People try to tell me this sort thing a lot, and I will *ALWAYS* disagree. See the moment I complain about a movie is when they break their *OWN RULES.* I will allow a movie to change the laws of physics, etc, whatever, so long as they state why, and then *FOLLOW* the "new" rules. If in your movie, you say, something happened to the water and now it's Flamable, so when it rains fires break out everywhere. (Think a Joker style prank, etc) Okay, fine, not a problem... but then later if they have a firetruck putting out a fire with *WATER* I call bullshit. For example: Avengers Infinitywar/endgame..... Black Widow "She can't come back"..... Yet there is another Gamora walking around like she *ISN'T PROOF* that they *COULD* get her back. And it's pretty simple, you have to go back to give the red stone back anyway, so when you get there and the two "Black Widow / Hawkeye" (Who were BOTH willing to die) Just say: "Hey, Hawkeye.... She jumped last time, so you are still around with your family and everything, this time... *you* jump, so she can continue as well". And if that doesn't work for you, the whole thing is fuct anyway since loki took one of the stones and that's never going back anyway, not to mention other giant plot holes like Ms Marvel "There are others planets/galaxies that don't have you guys, I need to go help them" ..... yeah... go do that, help *INDIVIDUAL* planets/solar systems/galaxies.... *INSTEAD OF* helping to stop this threat to *HALF OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!!!!* .... right? cause... that makes sense... right? Oh wait, what's that? it completely and totally doesn't... my bad.

Same with my brother. Severe tourettes and when he was a kid, a lot of it was auditory. Random high-pitched screeching, throat-clearing, a low humming sound whenever he watched TV. Never once did he do the random shouting of cuss-words thing. To be fair though, some people with tourettes do that. Most don't but some do and the movie didn't claim that that character represented EVERYONE with tourettes. If movies had to pander THAT much, they would be impossible, cause if they made a female character that liked to paint and whose favourite colour was blue, females could complain that that was misrepresentation, cause being female doesn't mean you like to paint or that blue is your favourite colour. No one claimed that it did. I understand the criticism of the aspergers (probably misspelled but I'm tired and lazy) character better, cause it wasn't just a stereotypical and rare case of aspergers, but downright nonsensical and contradictory of itself. Kinda like William Dafoe's gay character in Boondock Saints. Love that movie but holy shit, that character was awful. One moment, he's a normal man who just so happens to be gay. Next moment he's the femme type of expressive gay. One moment he's dominating. Next moment he's submissive blah blah blah. It's like they just took all the characteristics of all gay people combined and slammed them into one clusterfuck of a character. Idk why I'm ranting so much today.

They only saw the good side of it but not the inconveniences? o.o Whatever, if predators would really exist, I'd 100% be for them taking autism, it would make them so socially awkward that they'd rather not leave their home planet.

As someone on the spectrum, I was incredibly annoyed with the blatant misrepresentation of what aspergers actually is. It was insulting.

Agreed. It made it seem like it was some kind of super power that makes us other then human, then also shows that we have no emotions and freaks out at loud sounds like alarms. It was never shown If he was high or low in the spectrum, only stating he ‘had Aspergers’ which seemed to try to be pandering, but was really insulting.
@joshmcintyre58684 жыл бұрын
That’s not even mentioning tatrets, suicide and maybe even PTSD but makes them all seem like fun little quirks, not things people have to deal with, live with and sadly, die with due to them. Not to sound like I’m a shot puppy, but when I see these kinds of things I just think”have they ever met someone with this?” Ive has suicidal thoughts, mild PTSD from a car crash, and Aspergers and this movie makes it into a joke! It’s sickening and disgusting. They should of had at least one person with any kind of moral standing with the writers, of which there were two.

I sat in on a therapy session with my ex one time only to find out that she had been seeing this absolutely insane therapist. This woman was actually going on about how her genes were superior and her intellect was on another level because she had an autistic son. She also said something along the lines of her son being the next step in the evolutionary line of humans or something like that. The type of woman who talks about her PhD, says things like, "I believe in science" and then goes on to say the most nonsensical thing you have heard that year. She was trying really hard to convince herself. Probably told that to every new person she met without them even asking or caring to ask. I remember walking out of there thinking, "wow, you have been paying to talk to that idiot." It's crazy but those people actually exist. There are plenty of people working in professional capacities who are complete morons. And they get paid a lot of money while being complete morons.

@@widen698 Perfectly good therapist exist and have helped many people. Its just, like any job, there are going to be idiots and morons who slip through the cracks. I once had a teacher who was absolute trash, nobody in the class would have passed if not for how that teacher also fudged the grades. That experience stuck with me, I honestly remember her more then most of my other teachers. But the thing is ,most of the other teachers I have had are perfectly fine, with a few exceptional ones both good and bad. Person above got a exceptionally bad therapist, but most won't be like that. If you think you need help, someone to talk to, someone who knows a lot about the mind to help you figure out what direction you want to go in your life. Try. Unless you are very unlucky (like the person above), you will find someone who can help you.

Always a fun time when a quip made by a character in a movie is a better plot than the movie you are watching. Observe: A young, sickly-by-their-standard Predator, is sick of being the support for hunts, and wants to get revenge for bullying by his peers. So, he manages to get himself on a ship with some Preds who are on their way to start a hunt of some "big game"; dangerous creatures known as "humans". As they arrive in orbit above Earth, he manages to sabatoge the ship, sending it crashing to the surface as he jumps in the escape pod and peaces out to the planet below more safely. His plan is to lead some of these humans he has heard so much about to the wreck, and give them access to the Pred tech, and level the playing field, if not give the humans the capacity to fend them off for good. Little does he know, but the other Preds managed to get off a message telling their leaders about his betrayal, and now, a Hunter is on his way. A Hunter would be a far bigger, more vicious, and less mercifull version of a Pred, and used to hunt down fellow Preds and even more dangerous threats. The Rogue Pred manages to lead a troop of American soldiers to the wreck, only to pick up the Hunter's vessel on approach. Now, he AND the soldiers have to survive against the Hunter by working together; a tense alliance, given intell fed to the soldiers as command begins to realize what they are up against. Eventually, in a violent hunt, both the Rogue, and the Hunter are killed, and most of the soldier team is wiped out, the last remaining soldier(s) evacuating with only a few "artifacts" from the encounter. Ending scene is a group of "Bulls", the elite, successful Preds of many hunts, preparing for a mission to Earth to reccover the missing weapons and armour. ((Set up for a sequel and nifty little twist on the concept of the human team being the hunted, now a team of Preds would be the ones on a mission and being hunted as they try to reccover the missing tech)) This is workshopable, and editable, but I feel its a more solid and action packed scenario, please lead feedback if the fancy strikes you :)
