I think it would be interesting if you make a video about how to build a system of values that isn't corrupted. It's true that fighting for your system of values makes you a hero but what if the system itself isn't yours. We may think we build it but it's nothing more than the result of our society.

Ever since I was a young boy, I always had this "hero complex" I always had this dream of helping others and doing humanitarian works. My "hero complex" solidified more when my family And I were at a mall and a fire started inside and we had to evacuate the mall, it gave me a sense of me helping others get out of the building or charging towards the emergency hose to put out the fire. While growing up I still held this passion and now I'm a firefighter and an emergency responder with 4 years of experience while being a 2nd year nursing student.

A little novelette called At Last The Hero (available on Amazon) tells the story of a man damaged by not having had hero recognition in the war (WWII). When, eventually, he does become a hero, he comes to realize that heroism is not all glory and can come at a great price.

I've always had the urge of heroism since childhood, and I'm sure everyone does too. Unfortunately as we get older, many people will tell us to choose the safe path that fits conformity, because it's the path they chose. On top of that we're taught to be distracted, and live shallow lives. The hero is within all of us, but many of us give up on them. I want to remind myself and others to listen to that inner voice, instead of the voice of others. The courage to be happy is the courage to be disliked.

That sound a bit like fundament of the Ego. Belive over perceive. Very human. The genetical memory in every cell, the hereditary subconscious stractures of brain, former existences even, are the actual influences on destiny, and they work their impact anyway. The questions is: to perceive them consciously and recognize their power, or to rebell and cultivate Ego.

@@lemat579 Idk. I always interpreted the whole matter of free will as either one big paradox or something that could only be achieved through thorough introspection and evaluation. I recall when I was a young lad, walking in my neighborhood, with a nearly empty bottle of water. I did not care for the water as I had quenched my thirst already and it was too tiny to enjoy the rest. I was going to just drop it but I figured I'll water some plants, perhaps a bed of flowers. But then I came across a tiny plant growing between the cracks of the pavement. I do not know why but when I saw this, I could not help but give that tiny plant the remainder of my water.

Mhmm, I think the idea of a Demi hero is an incredibly important one today. As it is our world has never been bigger, more interconnected, yet separated and set in its ways than ever. It would be so hard for almost anyone to effect meaningful lasting good changes in this world that does not want heroes. Even those who may have the nature and nurture to be such a great person is bogged down and attacked dealing with such issues, not to mention the environments that allow for such people to develop is poor in such a society. Because of this I believe that one can actually create much greater and more permanent change by focusing on making their life, and their small immediate world, the people they associate with, better and more heroic, than trying to take the world by storm. Focusing on smaller issues that will never go down in history books, that will in all honesty go overlooked in most parts of life, but when combined with other Demi hero’s work, will lead to those mysterious sudden cultural shifts.

"Even those who may have the nature and nurture to be such a great person is bogged down and attacked dealing with such issues, not to mention the environments that allow for such people to develop is poor in such a society." Didnt you paid attention to the video? 7:27 "The hero is unmune to the intimidation and discouragement that easily derails the unheroic." 8:01 "Heroes are undeterred by profoundly intractable problems and/or by dangerously potent antagonists in the face of either or both they are undaunted." The hero MUST HAVE dauntless commitment to its values and an extraordinary talent and skill. If the hero DOES NOT posses these attributes, then, by definition, ITS NOT a hero. If we, ever encounter such an individual it would have not been born by common means.
@im9550
@im9550 4 жыл бұрын
vapubu sdfeww I’m not entirely sure what you mean by common means, but I do know this. Undaunted and undeterred does not mean effective or successful. Even those who are truly heroic will find their abilities limited when they face a society that rejects them and at times even despises them, compared to a hero in a world that is neutral.

im I love the dialogue here. I feel this in a major way. I was a builder. Howard Roark is my hero. But with the masses at the helm, their demand dictates and controls (or should I say limits) our lives. I used to build for goals not budgets. I used sacred geometry etc, built structures that were full of energy and stood the test of time. This craft attracted individuals of high character. In these times they were wealthy geniuses. I watched this market fade away. I followed it to the end, landing myself in the Bahamas. Then one day my clients (who held me as a hero) all told me they won’t be building anything of meaning for a while. They said we are facing the greatest economic collapse the planet has ever seen. I agreed this was necessary and have been waiting for a few years. But it’s taking forever and I’m becoming the antihero. I’ve spent this time doing yoga, meditating and letting go. All I find within is this massive energy to create and to be an individual. Like I was. But it is clear, to make it in this time one must concern themselves with the masses. One must find a way to contribute to the demand of the drooling unconscious consuming masses to be relevant or even to live. In doing this I feel like I want to die. I’ve been quite suicidal but I hang on for the hope that this will soon end. All of my peers who understand what’s going on are billionaires. They created a mechanism to create wealth in this time by stooping to supply the masses so they can live a comfortable life far away from this tragedy. I did not. I have never been a part of the masses. I was schooled separately and have always lived outside of society. I feel appalled by it. In doing my craft I never had to deal with the masses. My brain short circuits when I try think in terms of society. I’m devastated to think where we could be if we weren’t all chained to the herd. My clients were my buffer, they could deal with the masses and spend those profits creating temples with me. I never had to let my mind touch the zombie stuff. Now I’m here amongst the herd, trampled by them. Either I give in and compromise to eek out some form of life for what purpose I have no idea... perhaps I’m just too afraid to end my life but I feel a glimmer of hope that society will destroy itself soon, atlas will shrug. But every year that passes I start to lose hope. They think I’m crazy. I have checked myself in to a mental home twice. Last year it was drug addiction. I’m literally destroying myself with my own mind because I can’t understand how and why things keep going this way. I have memories of doing what I loved and the life that came with it. I can’t go on this way. I’ve gotten sober, really healthy and this hero desire wants to come back but I’ve been in society so long that it seems like an illness. I’m no longer anything like my hero the great Howard Roark from the novel the fountainhead. But I cannot let myself be a slave to the mob. I cannot let my brain try think of what they want next rather than greatness and progress. I got myself a gun but can’t bring myself to do it. I really love the hero in me. I hate the world I live in. These videos speak deeply to me but I’ve sacrificed everything for my values and am left with nothing. I’m poor too so my kids are all gone too. I’m just a washed up crazy person according to society but inside I am a genius, a hero, a divine creator. My building temples for those clients was only practice for the pyramid level creation I was capable of. Perhaps this creation of mine is now 5d instead of 3D? Like a construct of consciousness? Perhaps an arrangement of consciousnesses? Or is my pyramid myself? I’m treating myself that way. But I’m limited as to how much I can do with myself in that I can not be the man I am. I can only teach this man to accept and to let go. All feels worse than death. It’s torture of the highest degree. I’ve sat in prison this is much much worse. I’m actually thinking of trying to go to prison because in prison are hero’s kept in cages, I will be amongst my own kind and acceptance of physical incarceration is much easier than accepting being a slave to society, the doormat to the herd. Shrug atlas! 🙏🏽

@ 20 years ago I left home to study photography, my family couldn't help so I was working and studying. didn't have much left for food or fun after bills, but was doing what I wanted. a few months to finish the course I was exhausted, though I couldn't handle anymore, so I called my dad and told him I was giving up, I was too tired. to which my father responded: "A man never gives up" and "if you are tired, go to bed. Tomorrow you will wake up fresh to carry on" and the next day I woke up fresh and carried on. Still whenever I get myself in interesting challenges (and boy I get them a lot :) ), and I really want to quit, that voice comes to the back of my head: " a man never gives up". but that is just a way to get to my objectives, I found them as I went along with trial and error, I found what I want to get tired to. had more than 20 different jobs, worked in different countries, loved different people, and saw different values. My advice is to be curious, find what you want and even if not found, enjoy the ride, as the act of searching is amazing in itself. and never forget " a man never gives up". have a great life!

I remember an old article in a psychology magazine I was reading some times ago for a lecture with my pupils. It was about the hero and heroism, and the author argued that heroism naturally disappear in modern society : more and more comfort and equality make us more calm and more encline to share, and why do we have to fight for something, when we can have it through peacefull democracy, after all ? A hero is someone who have faith in deep principles, but nowadays, everything is relative, and my ideas are not better, neither worst than those of my neighbour. Last but not least, the hero always prefers the ideal over the material possessions, which is quite not the tendancies of our modern society.

A little novelette called At Last The Hero (available on Amazon) tells the story of a man damaged by not having had hero recognition in the war (WWII). When, eventually, he does become a hero, he comes to realize that heroism is not all glory and can come at a great price.

Wow! I built a company based on good values when I was young. Then I became a millionaire. Then my values were corrupted. I didn't consciously know it but I disliked myself. So I destroyed it all and walked away. Here I am 20 years later and I have found what I need to restart my heroic journey once again. Thank you.

So, 1. It is possible that we are seeing few Heroes today cause people are looking up to wrong Idols 2. Actors which are regarded as heroes mostly complain less Fulfilling life despite the fame they get cause thier Image of Hero is limited to Fiction, Face, Physic & Age 3. If Someone rises to the level of Heroism people lookupto today & educate them to divert to real Idols who can change the civilization, Will be the Real Hero of Our Time

I'm inclined to agree with these observations The majority of us tend to place higher value in role models who behave in a more selfish and vain manner so it is no surprise when our youth begin to exhibit those exact same attributes

I think the first step to become a hero is how to overcome our insecurities as well as any kind of complex that makes us being stuck in life. We all have such a personal mythology in which the main character is each one of us; if we look within, we'll know what we're destined to do.

The Gospel in the New Testament is more about freedom than love. Loving your neighbor and your brother is the pathway to a free society. The Holy Bible is filled with stories of heroism for a reason. God calls us to be the hero he created us to be. We all have a unique opportunity for heroism!

I’ve been journaling about this a lot. And if we look at heroes from stories or movies or people from the past. A lot of the times they are warriors. They are glorious. But in today’s age there is no place for warriors and I can’t recall a single person today that is “glorious”. So now the question is, what do we do about that?

You're not looking hard enough. We see heroes every day... but you've got to know how to recognize them. There's a lot of comedians that are heroes.... A lot of therapists & life coaches... A lot of writers, artists, musicians... A lot of people in asylums and group homes.... A lot of very special children.... Hopefully this helps it click for you. ❤🙏

I'm full of sin. Addiction to short term pleasures and no legit value system, typical north american. My journey of heroism is when I travel in a few months to south america and live a year within a christian enclave where I am taught the values of the faith and actively helping others. And keeping those values afterward. Just like the video and Bob Dylan said. We all gotta serve someone.
