The reason we LOST the final against Italy was that Southgate was NOT reactive with subs, and so Mancini checkmated him with a flexible two-position two-system-changing substitution. When Southgate is proactive, he gets found out. The only issue, which it would be great if you could discuss next time, is how fast Southgate needs to be when he is reacting. Currently, he is too slow for me. I put that down to tactical ability, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

This is becoming overstated but this tournament and the copa has suffered from player burnout. Bellingham has looked mentally drained throughout. As a scot Andy Robertson looked like he was about to keel over for us as did several more of our players who play packed schedules. Bielsa touched on this also, something needs to be done about it as the quality of the game has declined and footballs popularity will decline eventually also as a result. It actually was a penalty. Thats the rule now. You can't block with your studs out anymore. Everyone was warned of this. Its not a grey area. The rule was introduced before the euros specifically to clarify.

Uhh really the only reason Spain should be worried is the refs. Spain have arrived at this tournament and absolutely taken everything they deserve. England have limped along through cowardice and last game the ref had to give them a blessing just to help them out. Not to mention another unreal draw for England. What people have got to appreciate is that the first 4 games of this tournament, we played organised teams that setup not to lose, rather than win. Other decent teams also struggled against these teams, Slovenia went unbeaten and were only knocked out on pens. Funny how the best team on paper we've faced gave our best performance. People aren't giving the other teams enough credit. It's like when a team like Burnley beats a top team, rather than give credit to Burnley, it's just a case of the other team was rubbish. People hype the players and think they are gods, when they don't perform the manager gets the blame. They also have to take some responsibility, not just the manager.
