That browns defense in 2020 was terrible because of injuries the entire defensive backfield was compromised of backups and practice squad players Myles Garrett who has asthma missed most of the season with covid the defense gave up multiple leads throughout the season, Baker threw 4 TDs in the first half against Tennessee and the defense almost blew it and if not for Baker's arm they lose in Cincy the defense gave up a big lead against Pitt in the wildcard game and look how bad it played against Chad henne against the chiefs, also Baker in 2020 was learning his 4th offense with no pre season OTAs or training camp Chubb and Hunt missed multiple games the O-Line was wrecked with injuries Baker was introduced to a starting lineman on game day no wide receivers against the jets, Baker threw 20 plus completions in a row beating Joe burrow and the Bengals so don't try and say the defense is the reason they went 11-5 and 1-1 in 2020

Barker has fought for his career. He was a walk on to his college team, and once he was cut by the Browns, a lot of people wrote him off. He has shown he is a great QB. I have followed him for a long time. He has been a great QB for (MY TEAM) the Bucs. He has made a lot of people look like they don't know what they are talking about.

Baker has unequivocally proved that he has both the talent and IQ to play the game as a teams QB 1. He was in a complicated situation in Cleveland but still showed that he was the guy. (Even the browns looking back wish they never traded all those high draft picks and given Deshaun the most ludicrous contract ever, that set such a poor statute for years to come). Even though Baker proved himself he did make two mistakes, one that ultimately led to the other; he chose to play that fourth season when he was injured and should have been sitting and the results showed, but tough QB’s who are leaders sometimes make that decision and I’m this situation it was not the right one, he should have sat until he was healthy. The other mistake which Mikerphone points out in his video, is Baker demanding a trade and letting the Browns dictate his future landing spot in Carolina (which was a lose lose situation) when baker could have instead had 3/4 of a season to prove himself to the NFL that he was still that QB 1 and played 12 games with a team he was comfortable with instead of getting dropped into an awful situation in Carolina where he didn’t have nearly enough time to learn the playbook. But fortunately Baker was given another chance in TB after his stint with the Rams, and he’s getting to prove to everyone again that he’s fully capable of being a QB 1. It’s been a crazy ride for Baker, but he’s put up when he needs to, he just needs a team to commit to him.

As a Buccaneer fan Baker has played solid and still needs to improvement here and there, a lot of his completions have come from MK13 & check downs to White rb that has been on fire since week 7 now in week 11. No disrespect but the games he played good were mostly but not all against really subpar teams. Averaging 1.7 tds a game isn’t exactly a game changer. 14 tds going into week ten and just over 2,000 yards passing going into their tenth game comes to about 217 yds a game. If he can get them to 8 wins and comes back and doesn’t regress like he did in Cleveland, Carolina, the Rams, then I will say he is a comeback player of the year. His wins against mostly subpar teams and his stats to include mostly dunk and dunk plays could be replicated by most any backup QB. But if he can improve next year then I will gladly eat crow. I don’t hate any player but don’t think the celebrating Baker is the right time unless .500 % as a starter is the mark of greatness as well as mostly pedestrian stats. The lower turnover rate is the most encouraging stat. So many teams and college football has become a poor place to get players NFL ready when so many teams use the QB in college as a running back. Talent isn’t like it was in 1983-the late 90’s that’s for sure. Wins against the Bears, Saints,Texans and Titans aren’t gonna convince most people he did something miraculous. But in the losses he played poorly against the good teams with one exception. Wish him and the Bucs well. Love Mike Evans.

Sold on Baker! Always been sold on Baker! He did get a 3yr contract with the Bucs. I don’t agree with some of the Stefanski /Watson transition as I was a fan of the Browns at the time and followed it closely. But it’s all water under the bridge now as Baker has moved on to Tampa where there is stability which has had a great effect on Baker. I’m glad you are doing so well I’m a big fan! Go Baker!

Anywho that's just perspective, one thing u didn't mention is that baker is doing this good despite an offense lead by a first time play caller who isn't really doing Baker any favors leaving him in the pocket so much. Roll him out more, throw in a few designed runs for him, maybe even an option with White and he would do even better.

Big time fantasy football player and for drafts this season I was avoiding ALL Buccs players this year (QB position wasn't decided yet and didn't like Mayfield). Mayfield helped Mike Evans become more than fantasy viable with his play. While Mayfield's overall #s haven't been the absolute greatest, he's put up pretty decent #s which definitely surprised me.

The thing people forgot about Baker is he does have a NFL arm,i mean the guy can seriously sling the rock. The season the Browns moved on from him didn't he have a bad shoulder injury and played through it? So the season you gave up on him was an unfair evaluation because he was playing hurt. How about another team that moved on from the QB they drafted,the Rams. They gave up on Jared Goff but there is something everyone forgot,Goff has an NFL arm. The guy throws a beautiful spiral,like when the ball comes out of his hand it's just a pretty thing to watch. There is a lot of things that go into being a great QB but a good starting point is having an NFL arm and working hard on all the rest. This is why i think it's maybe to soon to give up on Zach Wilson,as excrutiatingly slow as his development as a QB has been the guy does have a cannon of an arm.

Baker was never bad people just didn’t know what they were talking about, in Cleveland he balled then got injured, in Carolina he had bad coaching and in LA he mostly balled out but was in a new system so he struggled a bit and now In Tampa he’s balling again

It's still all up in the air for Baker, if he finishes strong &wins the division then he might get an extension but if he plays poorly &they're sub-five-hundred then no one is making him their starter. Good luck but I'm not sure it's gonna work out for him cuz if I'm the Bucs I'd franchise Baker &see what he can do in the system in yr 2

You do have to wonder how differently it had been for the Jets if they had signed Mayfield to a team friendly deal like the Bucs and not have signed Rodgers. Mayfield is 13 in QBR, Z. Wilson is 30. It is a miracle the Jets have won as many games as they have.

Stability is something he’s always lacked until he got to Tampa. Next year he’s gonna take the next step necessary to be an above average QB
