I got to see the ‘Mats twice on this tour. Once in Seattle and once in San Francisco. It was a dream come true as I was too young to see them in their heyday. Wish they would tour again.

Reason # 526 why I love this man and his music. How more sincere can he be? He is on his knees playing it for the crowd. He has probably played this song hundreds of times at hundreds of shows but you still hear him actually play and sing it with real authenticity and passion that builds to its crescendo starting at 4:03.

I love the raw emotion here moved me to tears. It also was triggered by Joy Divisions beautiful cover on guitar going in, but once I heard the song and the rawness in person I broke. Outstanding.

@@rodjohnson3045 Both songs are very intense, and have lots of meaning behind them. And one being a tribute along just playing a few chords touched me, because I adore Joy Divison and that song and sad about the circumstances regarding the ending of the band, with the lead singer's passing under very sad circumstances. As for "Within Your Reach" it's such a powerful song, it can suggest trying to reconcile with a loved one, missing someone who has departed, being miles away from someone you love, anyways the song got me teary because I relate the two to so many hurdles I've faced and had to overcome or still am facing in this life journey. The first time I heard it I was 16. I loved it and got into them. Oh, and when Paul was singing he was very emotive and how he got low with the crowd seemed very vulnerable and raw and haunted deep within and thats what got me touched. Sorry you asked right? Lol.

That wasn't much of a "Love Will Tear Us Apart" cover. I see The Replacements as I see my Airedale Terrier. Dumb loveable goofball on the surface.. Heart, soul and genius that lies beneath.

Was there - totally remember Tommy half spinning around wondering what Westerberg was up to. This was a GREAT show -- and they did a second set of encores, which they hadn't done in Chicago the night before.

Love the little “Public Image” PiL shoutout to Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart”. They’re having fun and it’s their era of music. It’s quite nostalgic.

wish paul would have taken the cover along a bit further, but Paul seems to shut Tommy down on it quite abruptly. and then didnt bite on my generation at all. only to respond with one of his most heartfelt tracks. am i the only one seeing some tension there?

True, but I had no issues with the venue and it was packed. I wish I had better tech back then but that was what was available at the time. I felt lucky to get that close and struggled with how much to record versus just enjoying.
