The REV Test: Car Buttons: what they do

Lane emergency pedestrian detection autonomous Bluetooth descent departure warning. Ok, so that’s not a real thing. But when it comes to buying a new car today, there are a lot of systems and buttons and controls that might be very clever, but they can be a bit confusing to get your head around.
This week’s REV Test is all about the buttons - how they work, what they do, and how they can help you while you’re driving. To do just that, our three motoring journalists are using three of the most popular German cars: the BMW 5 Series Touring, Audi A4 Avant and Mercedes E-Class.

Both my wife an I have problems with touch screens, maybe we have dry fingers, but they don't always respond to inputs. In a car this is a real problem and would never buy a car that does not have real buttons for the important controls as tapping away does not go well when you need something to happen.

Housewives and millenials driving these cars.. wow.. sounds like a sci-fi story, I work in a decent field with 20 years experience and will probably never have a car like this. I'm not envious, I don't like german cars anyway, just pointing out how absurd this all is. I'm sure it's useful to the 0.01% that have rich husbands or (sugar)daddies.
