Really resonated with this. I socially isolate myself and have a hatred for humanity. But I'm also lonely and desire to belong somewhere. The hatred comes from not being able to be true to myself. I tried to belong but it meant going through the pain of not being myself. Every day is a struggle without social support. Last night this resulted in waking up with a burnt out brain and spiraling into a panic attack. How did I get myself out? I imagined myself belonging to the group. It was like I gave up the struggle of being myself, I no longer had the energy to fight. I was ready to forgive the friend that betrayed me, so I could have someone to talk to. "I love you, big brother" was what it felt like.

I am pleased to hear that this one resonated with your experience. You have perfectly summarised the dilemma for many of us in this life situation: can’t live with people, can’t live without them.

What does the quote in the description of the channel mean?
@blackpillacademy
@blackpillacademy Жыл бұрын
It’s a reference to the psychoanalyst Carl Jung’s idea of individuation: in the journey to enlightenment, you have to integrate your own dark side, or shadow. In the context of this channel, the black pill is the dark truth about human nature that you have to accept in order to "ascend" - literally or spiritually.

So yet again it comes down to good ol' evolutionary mismatch. Give it tens of thousands of years, and we may yet adapt to modernity, except that seems increasingly impossible given the pace of things. Possible solutions are regression, stagnation (a dark age), or transhumanism (specifically an engineered adaptation, problem with that is that the ones doing it would have to be wise enough to not fuck it up, and not corrupt enough to not just turn you into a slave). I guess social engineering could also work. Maybe reorganizing society into a more "tribal organ" structure with regards to Dunbar's number might do something. Growing up in a small town would probably be the best you could do nowadays. Didn't do it myself for the most part, but my stepbrothers did and I had a taste of it. Seemed nice.

Haha, I suppose the TL;DR summary for all of my videos would be “evolutionary mismatch.” You have mapped out the possible solutions with clarity. I share your intuition that there must be some way to integrate insights from evolutionary theory into modern society. Or perhaps small towns already did, and in our endless pursuit of progress, we largely abandoned them.

@@blackpillacademy Yeah, I heard the term semi-recently and figured it was a nice catch-all, as a lot of the problems of modernity seem to converge around this concept. That, and I'd argue, a lack of eustressors (environmental challenges promoting positive adaptations) making people physically unhealthy, promoting a general psychosis (atomization contributes to this), lowering the average IQ over generations, and ironically causing people to regress to more primitive, k life strategies with regards to mating -- specifically the emergence and eminence of "lookism," female attraction converging around the top 10-20 percent of men with regards to looks, etc. Though some would that this is the natural state of things re-emerging after certain cultural institutions (monogamy, modesty) have decayed and crumbled. I've come to appreciate over time just how many problems monogamy solved during it's run: stability problems relating to too many single men engaging in increasingly aggressive/predatory status-seeking behaviors, diseases of despair, resource security for women over a lifetime, and, of course most importantly (and relating to your video here), an optimally stable environment for children to grow up in, to which the absence has been sorely felt these past three generations or so. I believe people move to cities mainly due to economic reasons, as those become centers of trade and culture, and it's where most of the jobs and money are. Not many jobs in the country other than agriculture and tourism, and the jobs that support them. Although, recently there has been the emergence of "digital nomadism," where people have online jobs and move to more rural areas (or poorer countries in some cases), where it's cheaper and nicer. Problem is, this has a gentrifying effect if too many people do it, and eventually economically displaces the people who actually work the land and live there. With newer AI technologies, though, this may change or go away, we'll see. It's been my experience though that rural people are generally saner, more cohesive, and more grounded than their city brethren -- perhaps an illustration of "mouse utopia" shenanigans demonstrating a correlation between population density and general degeneracy/delusion/atomization. Though there are social problems emergent from the internet that seem to affect all equally. Anyways, good stuff. I don't see many "black pill" channels that discuss current social problems with this much depth, clarity, and groudedness in research -- mainly a lot of winging (being too ugly for women, not being needed by people, etc.) about the same things over and over, and finding ways to cope. Fair enough, don't get me wrong; current problems aren't likely to be solved in our lifetime as I suspect we are just getting into the "bad times" part of the historical cycle that so many people like to talk about nowadays. Best we can do now is "plant the seed," of the tree whose shade we won't get to enjoy, or at least find the seed so that others can plant it. Sounds sad, but there's a certain joy to be had in that sort of legacy building. it's a good cope, at least. So, this channel is a remake of an old one? Is there an archive of your older videos?

@@CDS255 Yes the mismatch hypothesis does seem to explain a lot of the problems of modernity. Although, as you point out, they could also stem from the lack of purifying selection in industrial society, allowing many people to survive and reproduce who would have perished under harsher ecological conditions. Once again, you have mapped out the whole range of possible explanations for the current mating crisis (amongst other issues). I hope to cover many of them in future videos. I had an old channel, focused exclusively on the inceldom issue, which got suspended. Although the videos were of a lower quality, and I didn’t have the majority of them backed up. On this channel, I plan to cover all of the social issues that could fall under the “black pill” rubric. But also hope to demonstrate that, as you say, there is the germ of a new light in the form of individuation, parallel structures, legacy building, etc. In any case, I appreciate your detailed comment and thank you for the kind words about the channel.

I argue we were not made for modernity. And the modernity we have pushes toxins in are air food and water. We will devolve if anything. The Industrial revolution is toxic. But there are people who adapt to wildlife survivalism without other humans

@@CDS255 I just wanted to say that I really appreciated this comment. I personally categorize myself as a misanthrope, and honestly see no hope or potential in humanity, at least as we are now. But this comment thread gave me new insight and shifted my perspective enough to perhaps ignite in me the tiniest iota of hope. Still hate humanity, or at least what is my perception of it anyway. But I feel a little better about our distant future now. Maybe lol. If we make it that far. Deep distrust and revulsion doesn’t entirely dissipate with a few comments. 😅 But regardless, thanks.
