I had a friend almost get expelled for bringing in his civil war musket that's with the teachers and department heads (the lead history teacher) permission. He still got Saturday school even though it was like an agreed school presentation. Like mid 2000s

I'm 60 now, in high school we kept our deer rifles in the back window of our trucks on gun racks. We would go hunting right after school. No one ever broke into our trucks nor were anyone complaining or scared of us. It wasn't until the cali's starting coming in did it change. ( Rural North Idaho). It's no longer North Idaho but now known as North Los Angeles. Crime and drugs. Completely destroyed the area

My area in Appalachia has gone from 97% homogenous and 1 violent and 3 property crimes per year, to 55%/45% in the last 3 years. Last year made public, we were at 51 violent crimes and 348 property crimes for the year 20222. 6 grapes and 5 murders.. one particularly grizzly murder involved SA and burning them alive, was done by a guy that Canada turned over to ICE, because his record was to bad for them.. so ICE said, "Come on in, bud! ❤🎉" So he randomly beat a series of homeless people with a bat, then kidnapped, graped, and murdered a young woman. Maybe he wasn't content with $800/month? Maybe we should give them more of our tax money.. I feel like we are letting them down 😢.

Not just your understanding; according to federal law all able-bodied males of military service age (17-45 last I checked) are the "unorganized" militia. Check 10 USC chapter 12 subsection 246.

@@timothylopez8572 you must have a reading comprehension problem...10 USC chapter 12 Subsection 246 a) clearly states every able-bodied male age 17 to 45, which happens to be the age range typically allowed for enlistment in the military, are the militia. Under b) of the same, you become the "organized" militia if you join the National Guard, the reserves or similar. If you don't, under c) you are designated "unorganized" militia. It's pretty straightforward, and jives with the Constitution.

46 yo, South Georgia here. We drove our trucks to school, to church etc. with rifles and shotguns in our back glass racks. We used to bring our guns into woodshop and re finish the stocks. Such a monstrous change in the mindset from the late 70’s to the 90’s. Lots of visible changes happened that were not good like the total loss of manufacturing jobs to cheap overseas labor, but something way more horrible happened behind the scenes during this time. It changed people.

An official navy was created 24 years before the 2nd amendment. If our founding fathers thought personal ownership of firearms was not important and government was the sole protector of its citizens, there have been no need for 2A at that time.

When i went to highschool my freshman year in 1995 i was walking around campus and noticed a door that just said "shooting range" above it. I asked about it and found that it used to be a regular p.e. class but had since been relegated to an after school sport/club that only seniors could join, and that 1995 was the last year any students could join.

I have 2 firearms and neither have gotten up by themselves and shot something. I wish more people would watch videos like this an learn the history behind the 2nd amendment instead of being scared of black rifles.

When you look at Article 1 Section 8 Clause 15 and 16 along with the 2nd Amendment you should realize that the Monopoly on force is granted to the militia under our constitution. History shows this to be the case in the early years of our republic

I’m 24, I just had my first kid last year. I really really hope my son gets to enjoy this right of the second amendment that god has given us for his entire life. I’m grateful that we have so many states turning to constitutional carry, although it makes me nervous that there aren’t as many people rooting for the NFA to be dismantled, the atf etc.. why can’t we as a country and society not understand, no matter what this right is not given to us it is granted at birth by god to each of us. This is not something that can go away or be taken from you. We need a consciousness change, we need a societal change of thought, we need to start teaching young people that no matter what this is a right that cannot be taken.

We had a riflery unit and a range of course in PE at my high school up until about 2000 or so. In NY. When we won our 25th state title or something it made the news and the people who didn’t know about the range sought to shut it down.

In the 1700s, it's not that people compensated for single-shot firearms by getting newer, more technologically advanced firearms. Such guns were ever only produced in very limited numbers at that time. They were outrageously expensive, and pretty much only for governments, or the very wealthiest of individuals. Otherwise, what people did was to have your gun, or maybe two (often a musket or a rifle, and a pistol), and they'd also have one or more bladed weapons handy. With only one shot (or two at the most) before needing to reload again, you damned well better have something pointy/stabby or cutty/choppy to defend yourself from whoever just managed to dodge your bullet! A typical kit for a frontiersman was: rifle, pistol (for the better off), tomahawk, and large knife. Some folk would carry a sword instead of the tomahawk, it just depended on personal preference.

But keep in mind most shootings involve these wizards called “criminals” the ones that do things and are sometimes caught in possession of illegal objects on their person, pure magic how they materialize those illegal objects. Now obviously that object can’t be a gun let’s not live in fantasy land, someone can’t get their hands on a gun if it’s illegal to have them, but you know like other illegal objects. I would disagree to the point that self-defense is protected in the Constitution (rather than the Bill of Right) under Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Every person has a Right to the various technologies necessary for the protection and sustainability of Life. The Second Amendment was used as a safeguard against legislation which could curtail the Rights of the People and they made it extremely difficult to overturn the Right of the People to bear arms.
