I don't have baking soda and I want to bake my son's cake but I don't have baking soda what should I do I only have baking powder ...I want it to be perfect can just baking powder work

If you lower the temperature to 320 degree and bake for 1 hrs and 15 minutes the cake won't brown so fast and you won't have to cover with foil.

This is an amazing recipe. For those people asking it they can add less sugar, egg sustitute, no cream cheese, etc. You're really asking for a different recipe. THIS is the recipe she wants to share, the exact ingredients she uses is what makes it work and makes it delicious. If you'd like to reduce this, change that, try it for yourselves and please share the results with the rest to see if those changes worked.

I made this cake, but made some tweeks in the recipe So instead of 2 1/2 sugar, I used 2 1/4, and instead of using 1/2 cup of milk, I used tangerine juice. I thought using 2 cups of icing sugar for the glaze would be too sweet, so I reduced it to one cup and used cream cheese to thicken it and used tangerine juice instead of the milk. My family loved it so much. As for the temperature, I put it at 320 all the way through...the cake was golden brown. Thank you

Long time since I have heard an "educated" tone! Interesting to note that although English is not your mother tongue, it sounds so pleasing to the ear. The world needs to hear these soothing tones as honestly mother tongues are getting lost in transitiion. Your demos are par excellence❤

Hello hello! Could you please do a sponge cake with fresh cream frosting that we get here in Australia in the Asian bakeries. That cloudy melt in mouth texture is what we go for. Would love to make it at home

Do you use corn starch because you are using all purpose flour? Could you use cake flour instead, or would it lack structure from having less protein?

Apparently you can’t get cake flour in some countries, like New Zealand, where she is. So AP + cornstarch aka corn flour is her substitute. I live in the US and I’ve made some of her recipes with the AP/cornstarch mix and had GREAT results.

Greetings!! As you bake most of your amazing cake recipes in two8inch cake tins what should the size (inches)of the cake tins be if I reduce the recipe to half ? also could I use whipping cream for the cake as my buttercream (your recipe) keeps melting once done i wonder if this happens as i live in hotter climate region or if it's my fault(beginner) i have 6inch square tin 7inch round tin 6inch heart tin 8inch cake tin two 5inch cake tins i have only used 8 and 7inch tins till now for your cakes please help me out --THNX--

Block style, not tub or whipped. In the US it comes in a foil pouch and a thin cardboard box. Use a brand that doesn’t have thickeners. Nothing wrong with them inherently, but they get wonky if you whip or heat them too much.

I use 1cup or 200g sugar.. comes out good. All her recipes i use 200g/1cup sugar .i dnt like sugar that much. The cakes ain't too sweet when using 1cup sugar or 200g sugar...

Too much sugar in all your recipes. 700 g for this one. Your cakes look delicious but you don't need that amount of sugar.
