Let me and everyone else know what has worked for you in the past? I've been thinking a lot in the past couple of years on this topic and I keep coming back to "just do something everyday". It's not about doing more or spending hours a day. It's about being focused and selective but then applying the discipline to compound that progress over time.

This is a really inspiring video and chimes with something I'm finally coming to realise- I just want to move well, for as long as possible, so just keep moving- stretching, lifting, walking, whatever. Just do *something* every day; it all counts! Your videos are playing a huge part (especially the follow alongs), so thank you. Also, congrats on the Vivo sponsorship, that's so cool!

Dear Tom, another great video, I really love its message. Also, huge congratulations on that new collab, wow! Definitely will be using your code for my next pair of shoes, so thanks for that! Keep it up, kind regards from Germany :)

Hey Tom, just wanted to let you know that in the last 2 years following your videos, I've also gone from not being able to touch my toes to being able to do that. Finding your channel at the same time as reading. James clears atomic habits was the combination I needed to put in the daily work in the mornings for me to be able to make progress. Thanks for everything you're doing.

I started doing your beginners routines with the start of this year. My hamstrings were so tight I could barely touch the ground with the tips of my fingers. I'm doing it everyday and really taking time and enjoying it. Today I can put my whole palms to the floor during same stretch. Breathing and relaxing is the key as you say ^^ This channel honestly deserves more followers!

Hey Tom, thank you for this video for years you’ve been a huge inspiration to me during my fitness journey. You inspired me to be physically fit in many ways, especially your guides on front split and hand stands. I had stopped training both of these skills because of stress in my life but after seeing this video I will now do them daily like I used to. Just wanted to tell you that you really make an impact in my life and keep up the videos ❤.

Hello, Tom. I find your flexibility and mobility follow-alongs so helpful. One of the aspects that keeps me coming back to your videos regularly is your relaxed manner, the calm and informative way you demonstrate, and the complete lack of 'look at me'-ism. You clearly really know your stuff. So thank you!

Thank you for blessing us with so much a high quality content and keep on doing u! Greetings from Germany - ehm btw sorry to say but apart from the one arm handstand the student has outgrown the master, couldnt have done it without u tho and im not working >>

I've been following your channel since around 2015, and you are the "online fitness person" who probably influenced my outlook on training the most. And believe me, I've consumed a lot of content throughout all those years. I'm so proud to see how far you've come, and I am excited about the journey ahead. Keep up the good work, Tom, and thank you for everything you've provided free of charge - especially those awesome follow-along sessions. Cheers!

Super useful! Gonna try to implement some of these tips a little better. Quick q, Since I do standard strength training in the gym, would you recommend doing small full body light recovery strength training daily or to focus only on what was trained that day in terms of recovery?
@BodyweightWarrior

I think you if you’re training hard with normal sessions I would treat the daily as capacity / blood flow. Do reps, make the sets easy and grease the movements. Assess progress and reduce if needed

Couch stretch is hard. My favorite. Having a 4 year old and coming off ritalin has made it hard for me to stick with a daily routine. I try to pick one thing to do. Never giving up.

Also a big fan of barefoot shoes, as kind of a fundamental step. I use Xero HFS, but these things are really expensive and I'm looking for a replacement. Will look into vivos.

I find daily(ish) habits quite useful for autoregulation: Checking in on similar, low- to moderate-intensity movements daily lets me notice when I'm feeling strong or tired, tight or loose. It's also great for getting bloodflow and nutrients to those parts of the body where you want it. However, I'd attribute most of my progress to the less frequent (2xish weekly), more intense sessions where I'm really putting in a hard effort. For both strength and flexibility, I see the best growth from twice weekly high intensity sessions, rigorously tracking progressive overload. Pairing this with lighter, recovery and autoregulation focused sessions, where it's more playful, short and casual, on a closer-to-daily basis has worked very well for me. If you can establish a less frequent habit (say 2x weekly), one benefit of this is that it's quite easy to maintain even as life throws obstacles and busy periods at you. Two sessions can easily be shuffled around a long weekend away, or fit in between other last-minute engagements in a way that still leaves you feeling accomplished; whereas sometimes missing a day or two of a daily habit can leave me feeling less accomplished, like I've gone off track. Excellent video Tom!

Hi, I love you and your channel and I follow you for years now, but can you really say that you are making a long term progress? Since achieving the one arm handstand and maybe 5 HSPU, I don't remember seeing big progress in the calisthenics journey for the last 2-3 years. I know (also in person) that advanced road is tough, but there are guys that really pushing themselves to make this long term progress through focusing or changing their bodyweight (Tyson Edwards for example, alphadestiny) while grooving the basics just so without even serious extra weight can only get you so far.
