Schools need to teach this, seriously. Kids everywhere were probably doing it correctly without even realizing it, and there are so many who get discouraged that they can't do it just because they didn't intuitively discover the correct mechanisms.

That’s true. Because as kids if we was to see someone do it we’ll probably, or our bodies will probably do it the correct way starting off. But over the years we was told to ‘do it this way not that way’ type statements when the body knew all along how to perform these feats. Most of my workouts came from watching kids do it whether they were novice or not. I’ve gotten 2 times stronger learning the mechanics of how kids and animals move.

Their plan is to make us weak and dumb, why do you think their trying so hard to get rid of all forms of PE is schools and they true and blame it on “budget problems”. They just want us dumb and weak, mentally and physically so that way we can never have the power or knowledge to heal ourselves. Now they talking about getting rid of the department of education, they plan starting to take form and the country let it happen.

It's the way how to grab the bar for bench press. You should not grip the bar like straight palm, that is weaker grip. You should rotate the wrist like you are braking or bending the bar.. bar will come slightly at angle to your palm and that's stable and will give more power.

A couple tips, pull your shoulders back, as if you were trying to squeeze your shoulder blades together, while also poking your chest out, and instead of planting your hands on the ground use dumbbells, grip them like youre doing hammer curls and place them on the ground where you would normally place your hands to do a pushup it gives you like an extra 1-2 inches at the bottom of the pushup. Maintain your shoulder position and go extremely slow especially towards the bottom of the pushup. Lean in and really feel the stretch at the bottom. I promise ten of those pushups will wreck your chest more than a hundred normal pushups. This is my go to method and i used to not be able to do pushups at all because of issues in my rotator cuff. Always remember 100 fast pushups with bad form will never be as effective as even 5 slow pushups with good form. Also I'm not recommending you try this if you have shoulder problems or an injury, this isnt an end all solution if you have problems with your shoulders, and just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will be safe for you so talk with your doctor before you try anything.

I've done gymnastics in the past a lot and they always told me a certain way to stand on your hands while in a handstand. Although not the same as what's explained here, I do now realize that it was the same kind of principal, that way the weight of your body got distributed more evenly over your hands.

Thank you so much for this, this is huge for me! My whole life I've wondered why pushups tire my arms out instead of my chest. I tried different hand positions, using dumbbells to keep the wrist straight, all that stuff. Today your video showed me that this was the thing I was missing. The fun part about pushups is that you can place your hands anywhere to hit any part you want. Regular pushups are boring. I'll do 5 reps and hop stagger my hand placements. I've done like a thousand different variations that hit everything. What helped me personally is doing them with my eyes closed and just paying attention to how my body is balanced. Same with pullups, squats, etc. Creating a mental image of what I'm doing has helped me immensely! Using resistance bands has played a huge part of figuring this all out.

If you can’t do pushups yet try doing 2 min. Planks first by concentrating on keeping a straight back not sagging or hunching during position- use a mirror. Also I suggest you do 4 sets of knee pushups- 25 reps each set. Set 1 reg, 2 tricep, 3diamond, and 4 wide shoulder pushups these work all the areas you need to be conditioned enough to safely transition into normal pushups. Once you master those, you’ll be ready for some weighted vest push ups, but you may also have to start those with planks and knee push-ups. I've experienced with different pushup styles in the past, and some minor changes to hand position can do major changes to the difficulty, like moving the hands barely further downwards will make it way heavier, turning the hands a little will affect the difficulty too, and the distance between the hands can make big changes as well for people trying to do pushups at home, when they're used to additional weight at their back, just move the hands a little down, and feel the weight actually easily getting heavier than e.g. 20kg extra weight when doing pushup like you usually would
@valuxlevelux5618
@valuxlevelux5618 Ай бұрын
Don't add weight.. just progressivly do harder pushups.. quicker or clapping in your hand or with your feets on upper surface or as you said by postionning your hands in difficult position. Btw you also train more muscles.

@@valuxlevelux5618adding weight isn’t bad at all. Maybe as a beginner but not in general. So, never bluntly say “don’t add weight”, with three dots directly following it, please. I hope you can understand what I mean. I can elaborate more if needed.

@@Tootrillll I don't need you to elaborate, you can always progress safely by using your bodyweight only. You always risk injuries by adding weight, and it's not needed, I would even say its counter productive. People who use heavy weights damage their joints and cartilage.

No shit , that's the point. If it's easier it's probably because your form is wrong. Just like you said, if your elbows are out then your not doing any pushups, as that's completely wrong. Proper form is always going to make it feel harder not easier.

@thaynemorris5309
@thaynemorris5309 Ай бұрын
Your observation isn’t stupid. It is easier the way you mentioned because the way demonstrated in the video removes a lot of the support muscles you’d use when doing it with the elbows further away from the body. Albeit, as the other replies mentioned, doing it your way will recruit your shoulders (particularly your anterior deltoid) which aren’t really designed to work in this range comfortably. It’s a great way to nurture a tendon impingement syndrome. However, if you start the way you mentioned (about 45-50° away from the body) and externally rotate as you press you’ll actually have a safer, more calisthenic movement that recruits more of your chest. I used to believe in isolating muscles by removing synergists (support muscles), but the body is designed quite perfectly to work together to complete movements. Rather than modify the movement to reduce synergistic muscles that are doing what they’re supposed to do, it’s better to get them to work together safely with proper movement throughout the full range of motion. It’ll be easier than isolating the muscle, but you can adjust speed, depth, isometric holds at the bottom, slower and more controlled eccentrics, and intentional muscle activation to increase the difficulty. If you pay attention to which part of your chest you’re pushing from you can actually control which parts fire for the lift and the order they do so. Like diaphragmatic breathing where you inhale from the diaphragm (stomach will rise), then sides of your ribs (sides will open up), and top of the sternum (chest will rise) to fully fill your lungs and expand into the entire chamber. Then do it in reverse to breathe out. You can achieve this level of control with muscle activation as well.

Also, when you create external rotation on your pushups, you allow your shoulder to be well balanced. If you don't create that external rotation, you can get a bad shoulder posture over time, internal shoulder rotation, which means bad posture, and potential shoulder joint injuries.
