Unpopular opinion- The reg season never shakes out like the post-season because players sandbag a lot in the regular season. A lot of players are afraid to give their full effort and losing or ending up a talking point on some sports review program looking like a try-hard. Thats why so many players shrink these days in the playoffs, and teams surprise us in the post-season. The real stars of the year rise to top while the others that are used to fluctuating on the gas pedal find it hard to find any consistency because they think they can just turn it on at will. I'm not one of those people who think the modern nba is less talented. I notice a lot of pick-up basketball mentality and body-language in some of the "stars" these days.
@extrasoggybagel90155 жыл бұрын
The 2-2-1-1-1 format makes it so that the home team always has more or equal home games as the away team. 2-3-2 can let the away tram have more home games (if they win 4-1)

I don't think it's that "Lebron isn't in the playoffs" that makes it more interesting, but that "Lebron's in the West". In the East, LeBron could possibly make the conference finals or at least the second, but in the West, I doubt he makes it past 6 games in the first round.

Really the season needs to be more like a double round robin setup. 58 games of home and home vs every team in the league. You play everyone and now you seed from there and I feel like on average cutting down 24 game where a lot of players miss or sit could be used to save up for the playoffs. in

I've been saying that for the longest time! Sixers just need a actual 3 point shooting point guard, someone who can create his own shot and can catch and shoot.

Did Ben Simmons originally play point guard in college? He has the prototypical body type and skill set of a Small Forward. If the 76ers can get a better PG (what fultz was supposed to be) and move Simmons to the 3, his lack of a jumpshot shouldn't be that much of a problem at that position.
@TheIcemanthomas5 жыл бұрын
if this was 1985 that could work. But in 2019, un cant be a wing if u cant contribute offensively. He would have to completely retool his game to play solely off ball. And moving his position doesnt fix the floor spacing issues.

The point of having home court advantage is to have played more or at least as many home games as your opponent no matter how many games the series goes . With the regural format if the series ends in 5 or 7 the team with the advantage plays one more home game , and if it ends in 4 or 6 both teans play the same amount of hone games . With the 2-3-2 fornat if the series ends in 5 the team with the disadvantage actually plays one more home game .It may slightly increase the chances of an upset but if we wanna be objective it ' s unfair to the team who earbed hone court advantage during the regurak season .

I think the playoffs are perfect just how the are. But if I were to change them, I think the first round should be 1-6 2-5 3-4 matchups with the 7-8 seeds having a best of 3 or maybe single elimination. This year the 7 seeds are good but normally they’re bad and it would be one-three decently entertaining games. Also, as Massachusetts guy I felt your pain in the first half of the Cs game. They had tyreke Evans looking like John wall. Our interior defense was garbage. I knew it would turn around because Indy was basically only scoring on fast breaks and plays without defense but still.

I think that the first round should be shorter not a one game series like 3 or 5 game series
@johndavis93215 жыл бұрын
Nah that's wack

Every series would be interesting if they were 3-3-1 throughout the playoffs. I did really like the 2-3-2 format because if you did steal a home game from the higher seed your reward should be the ability to close out at home. Honestly if the NBA isn't going to move to the 1-16 seeding then maybe have the first round should be shortened or even dropping the 8 seed all together and giving the 1 a bye week

I forgot what year it was I think it was 2014 when almost every team in the first round went into game 7s. And then there was the clippers vs Spurs in 2015 which I found exciting

Me and a friend of mine just had the playoffs being better without LeBron and I agree 100 percent. It feels like we're finally getting a newer NBA feel (outside the Warriors obviously.)

1st rd should def be best of 5. I wouldn't be opposed to the 2nd rd being best of 5 either. It used to be that way back in the day amd there weren't that many upsets. A few more for intrigue tho

Here after a couple of days Ben Simmons heading to the Nets for James Harden they didn’t no 3nD because they kept Maxey, Thybulle, Harris tbh Ya the Bucks just previously won but they have some problems now with KD and Embiid getting upgrades to their teams
