@@jeffreyepsteinseggshapedpe143 I think that was very specific, thought-out casting. She was as she was for the reason you state: some goomah-type figure like Sil's wife (who is his real wife, no offence Sil) would have been par for the course for a Made Guy, but Ginny made you sit up and go, WTF? It turned John into a three-dimensional character in one fell swoop. So his beef with Ralph makes sense in that context. And the behaviour at the wedding of Ariadne or whatever her name was makes sense for John, and makes a sharp contrast with all of the macho hard-ons around him. As a character-building trope, it was a stroke of genius.

I always found it strange how Johnny thought he could get away with smoking. People who smoke don't realize that the smell of it sticks to your clothes, inside of cars, your curtains and pretty much everything in you're house, etc. It lingers strongly on you. Ginny should have easily smelled it on him and been aware but I can't remember if the show ever pointed that out.

I heard that true genius is making your idea feel like someone elses. If you watch john here. He leads the conversation but he also makes it seem like Paulie is in control of it. When he ask would Tony play favourite. Johnny knew it would plant the seeds in Paulie head but without it being obvious what he was doing. So he would start thinking he came up with the conclusion all by himself.

@jksonny Actually it lead to many different things. Paulie revealed information about Tony's HUD business. Which in turn lead to the Sopranos having to give a percentage to the Lupertazzi family after causing major tension between the families. It also almost got Carmine Lupertazzi whacked and it caused a major riff between Tony and Johnny. Paulie also revealed the Ginny Sack joke, which lead to Johnny Sack and Ralph Ciferatto almost getting whacked. All that happened cause of Paulie.
