At ≈ 1:48 does anybody know why Tony didn't reply "look Johnny, that property was there for whoever was willing to take the risk of buying it and reselling it". "Am I correct"? "And you could have done the exact same thing that I did...am I correct"? "But you didn't". _"So why do you think you deserve a part of my money just because I acted on it and you didn't"?_ I'm not trying to be funny, it seems Tony would have been justified to say that. Thanks, if anybody can explain 🤷

@donarthiazi2443 In this season, Tony is constantly talking to Johnny about what's fair and not. I think Tony was just trying to ease the tension from all the past problems the family's had and maybe Tony felt it was the least he could do to make things better for both families interactions. We find out that unfortunately does not happen. Lol

@donarthiazi2443 I love when Tony looks at Carmine after Johnny said, "Carmine thinks it's only fair", and Carmine is eating some cake totally not paying attention. Johnny was always going to be the boss, and with Carmine switching to the feds, the show set it up perfectly. This show is awesome and my dad loved it when he was still here, so every other year I'll binge watch all the seasons. James Gandolfini was truly a special actor.

That "alright, Jesus" out of Ralph was always hilarious and ultimately telling. There's a reason he lasted more than a season, because he recognized when he had to back down, unlike Richie, Blundetto, and Feech. Matter of fact, if Tony didn't love animals for some reason, Ralphie probably would've had smooth sailing up til the war between New York and Jersey, whatever happened there.
@kasegiyabu5030
@kasegiyabu5030 Жыл бұрын
There's a school of thought that says it wasn't a love of animals. Tony was still carrying the way Ralph disrespected him by killing Tracee at the BadaBing. When he was killing Ralph he said repeatedly "You killed _her_ !" and " _She_ was innocent!", like the killing had got to him more than he showed at the time.

@@katkustarddeadarmyGeorgie would probably beat a good few of the mobsters except tony. He couldn’t hit Ralph because he was made and Ralph’s new Georgie can’t do anything like what if he tried that on paulie or Christopher and Tracy was a girl. But, Ralph did kinda earn a lot of people respect because he put up a better fight against tony even in losing and getting killed that a lot of bigger guys would. He definitely chooses carfully who he does it to but isn’t too bad In a fight by any means.

@@kasegiyabu5030- i definitely agree with you that he's definitely not *just* talking about the horse but also Tracy, but he does specifically say "she was a beautiful innocent creature" which applies to both and Tony does have a history of a soft spot and an attachment towards animals, with the ducks and how he upset he gets about Christopher smothering Adrianna's dog and he bloody loved that horse, hence the painting lmao

I can't think of ANY actor on the show who was not perfect in their respective roles. This has as much to do with the more than outstanding writing/directing that went on with the show. Can anyone name me an actor that was NOT great in the series? Even the minor characters brought something to the table. I guess AJ would probably be named, but when you think back, the little prick was on the show for 7 years, and handled himself admirably with all those older more experienced actors. I wish we could get some deleted scenes added, so there would be some new shit to watch.

Jeffrey Bank, up until the Soprano's I really got tire of the cliched gangster movies; Also, Goodfella's and the Godfather as good as they were showed their main characters to be too glamorouswith an anit hero theme, it was too pat. The Soprano's however developed their characters to be flawed, other than Bobby Bacala they were all scum bags and back stabbing thugs. David Chase in some cases went out of his way to tell his viewers they are evil and low life parasites. Paulie killing the old lady just to get her money so he could impress Tony with a fatter envelope speaks volumes that they were anything but men of honor among thieves.

In most shows, passing comments like that are simply there for momentary entertainment. Here, an innocuous passing comment becomes the spark plug for one of the most entertaining and brilliant storylines in TV history. The sopranos were so great at turning things that seemed trivial into significant story plots.

He was ready to switch families. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew about Tony getting clipped. Honestly I think the point of the sopranos is they are all full of shit and will go to the best situation no matter who gets in the way. Tony was a mess by the end and killed 2 of his best men (Christopher and Ralph, plus Furio left) so I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if Paulie had something to do w Tonys death

Most of the characters are. One thing I love about this series is it kind of shows even though its the brutal and glamorous life of the mafia, it's still the same old story for any kind of a supervisor -- dealing with your employees' problems, untangling issues, and as Tony once so eloquently putting it "unfucking what they just fucked up."
