In this video, Tim demonstrates how rolling is the foundation of your gait pattern. He also shows how to perform the elbow roll while standing. Give this a try and see how good it feels! #originalstrength

great videos and book, awesome material that works. a question, in a recent podcast interviewing you Tim, you said you crawled for two years with no other strength training. and in my experience crawling tends to feel more pushing, in motion. Did you incorporate any pulling motions to balance out the pushing? Or is there more to crawling?, in that it is well rounded.

Thanks for the question. Many assume crawling is only a push but crawling greatly works the posterior chain as well. Holding a head up for 20 to 45 minutes at a time really does build the back. And, if you watch a lean person crawl, you will notice reflexive contractions throughout the entire torso, including the lats, obliques and rear delts. I did not feel a need to balance out my crawling with pulls. Neither my posture or strength seemed to suffer - my experience. Also, I did not entirely abandon pulling motions. I did play. I am certain i climbed trees played with brookfield's barrel training, and did other "pulling" things i found novel and fun. I don't believe there is anything wrong with incorporating pulling and hanging into a crawling regimen or any regimen; especially if they are enjoyed. But I also don't believe they need to be balanced out. Again, I'm operating on my experience and observations. Hope this helps. Thank you so much for contributing!

Tim, I would be very interested in getting to know your take on bridging. Thank you.

Balwant Padaki I am not totally sure about your question, as far as if you have any specific questions about bridging, but I think bridging is a good movement. It is a great way to move and open the body in a way it rarely receives - especially for most people. It feels good (it should) and it is great to open the hips and mobilize the spine in extension. Shoulder bridges are great ways to work the glutes, neck bridges can help build a resilient neck = resilient body (if done safely), and gymnastic bridges are great for opening the shoulders. I play with bridging every once in a while. We even teach a form of bridging in our Pressing Reset Workshops. I hope this helps a little. If i totally missed your question, just let me know and I'll try again! Thanks for contributing.

Interesting movement, I would like to see more moves from that starting pattern, right now I just can't think of any sequence for it... Also, did I hear correctly - "gay pattern"? Nice vid, cheers!

László Bereczki some movements can just be done to be doing them and because they feel good. There isn't always a sequence, but if your creative you could come up with several from here. And no, I did not say gay pattern. I said gait pattern - like walking with the opposite arm and leg as I described in the video. Thank you for watching.
