Tessalation was mistakenly given out by Bungie beginning of the season to all Final Shape non pre order owners. They said if you noticed and claimed it you could keep it but if you missed out tough luck. I occasionally use mine with healing grenade as an alternative to just healing.

I also can't highly recommend trying this with base renewal stasis hunter enough. The regen on dusk fields is so fast and frozen targets also take increased shatter damage from the grenade shot. Paired with a headstone weapon it's carried me through a good chunk of day 1 salvations, gms, solo legend campaign etc.

This gun is my party loadout 😂. I told my buddy to join me in trials and put it on, since you start out with a grenade and ammo. We turned the corner and disintegrated the team. I love this gun. A few kills is all your grenade energy back. Plus the catalyst is aawesome.

@@blindvi4849 a variation of my usual which is hand cannon plus Lucky pants for damage buff, I used my crafted Kept Confidence and whatever Strand heavy I felt like running. Strand on a Hunter gives you two grenades by default so that works very well with Tesselation.

I've loved it on hunter and titan ever since I got it, titan with armamentarium (or spirit of armamentarium!), and hunter with mothkeepers on strand for three grenades (fun fact: mothkeepers changes the damage type of tessellation to arc no matter what subclass you're on), plus you' can either use the grenade for tessellation, throw the grenade for overshield, or throw the grenade for a bit of damage before getting the whole thing back after a few kills

Dipped my toes into a few Pantheon encounters and was disappointed when I got a Pugilist+Frenzy Rufus, but the gun felt so good to use. More recently, since TFS, I've been more and more happy with it. I love Tessellation, though, despite all the negativity about it. I use it most on HoIL Hunter, but on Warlock, my main.

I use Tessellation on Prismatic Icefall Mantle titan with a Headstone/Strategist crafted Veiled Threat and the stasis rocket launcher from Ghosts of the Deep for a full stasis loadout that takes advantage of stasis surge x4 on icefall usage. Works really well the auto rifle perks on the artifact

Storm grenade makes this build cover all champion types. Jolt for overload or slow from bleak watcher, and your juiced up Tessellation blinds unstoppables. You’ll lose the weaken effect, and I don’t always like relying on abilities to stun champions, but this build is essentially future proof.

Holy moly just used this build, well close to it i use healing nade to get it back instantly. It requires quite a bit of thought and practice but its really really good. Well done figuring this one out. One of the most unique builds of TFS.

I played with this gun a bunch and it’s rlly good, but i just havent found myself using it since i finished the catalyst despite this, it’s a very flexible exotic, i had a rlly fun handheld super nova with controverse holds pairing with this, you either hand held supernova them up close, or you eat ye nade into the gun and blast em from a distance

I HIGHLYZ reccomend using Tess with behemoth. The shear amount of grenade regen you can have active on that subclass INDEPENDANT from getting kills is incredibly understaded.

@@lonecalzone6901 The simplest is just utilising the two fragments for generating grenade energy upon taking damage & shattering crystals. Add into that elemental charge alongside kickstart mods and you will find yourself getting 15s-20s icewall grenades. If you want it to be montecarlo levels of ability spam, pair it with a enhanceable demo + wellspring primary + orb based abilitt regen mods, HOWEVER that requires you to get kills.

The purchase of TFS gives you Tessellation, the purchase of the TFS + Annual Pass or just the Annual Pass upgrade also gives you the Tessellation catalyst. Only know this because I bought them separately.

It also pairs nicely with mothkeepers for another grenade (a third one on strand), whether you use touch of winter+coldsnap/glacier nades or widow's silk on strand :) though mothkeepers does force your tessellation into arc damage no matter the subclass

i was actually going to use tesselation for 2nd encounter vesper host, but unfortunately it is bugged where when you pick up the operator buff tesselations mag count goes to 0 and you CANNOT reload it. can't even use holster mods to reload it.

My main DPS rotation included this and edge transit. It cooks with a void grenade to start then void super then shoot primary then the weakening special shot into B&S edge transit. Choir of One has replaced it for the time being though lol

I actually prefer Tesselation with Strand for thr Sever. Its hard to get a sever source in a lot of dungeon runs and its what actually keeps the team alive to do their damage in Warlord's Ruin.

I'm having an issue with tesselation. I load the grenade shot and then go to a different weapon and it soft locks the gun. Cant fire it or reload it. super unfortunate because its actually so much fun to use. you have to swap to another weapon and then back to fix the issue.

Looking at this build makes me sad. It's great, but there's so few builds that feel like more than just "put on X exotic weapon with Y subclass and Z armor". The fact that there's two builds going on at once here with both the melee and grenade aspects of the build feeding into each other is something that we lack so much in D2. I feel like every build is just put this on (see: sunbracers, starfire, etc). There's ACTUAL buildcrafting here, everything is useful and used in the loop instead of being added on top. Ability kills for grenades, grenades for bursts of damage with tesselation, melees to grant devour, the crowd control utility being provided by mataidoxia, the pick of pugilist instead of demo to get both energies through devour and the perk on kill, all while leaving the heavy slot open for damage options. There's even a fragment that specifically plays into both the strand and void parts of the build. This feels like the only time in my 3k hours of playing Destiny that I witnessed ACTUAL buildcrafting. Every build is so spoonfed to us, "put on combi blow, liars and melee dodge", "put on sunbracers with heat rises", "put on *waves hands* HOIL or syntho in general". The only thing that its missing would be a use for that last aspect slot. I'm tempted to say just put on bleak watchers, but you're already dedicating your grenade to tesselation for the most part. While it would work, how about instead focusing the armor mods into class ability regen, and then use helion? That way you can spam heals to help your fireteam. It seems fitting as both the class ability and armor mods aren't used. That would make it a truly all-rounder build that has *gasp* actual thourough buildcrafting behind it! Genuinely made me want to hop on just to play around with it. That kind of stuff being so rare is what made me so bored of Destiny.

That's what I like about it. Only way I could describe it is self sustaining/ self churn. Pretty much everything you do helps something else directly. And with that fragments, I feel good about 3 of them but the other 2 you can use to add on even more. My main focus was being helpful in damage phases ( or solo tbh). I found getting a 2nd proc of weaken (grenade) and then self proc radiant from arcane made the most sense. But, there's a ton more to do with it, you just have to move some things around.

Catalyst makes a good difference as well, especially on prism where you can just swap grenades to swap the subclass verb instead of switching your whole subclass and build

After I watched this vid I created a similar build and had a lot of fun with it... But one big issue is the Tessellation bug where you suddenly end up with 0 rounds in your magazine and you cannot reload or fire until either you unequip/equip the weapon or die then revive...
