Tbh Monster Hunter is big in the Philippines, there are alot of groups formed since MHFU. Most of them are just solo hunters (including me). Living in PH is sometimes not a good place for a gamer since our work demands too much of our time and energy 😅 (well, in my case lol). That's why we rarely go online and can only slide a few quick solo hunts. AngBata started at World so maybe he hasn't discovered us yet ✌😅. BTW this podcast is a blast! Thank you for having AngBata!! Stay safe and happy hunting!! ❤❤❤

Our boy is here! The childhood dream has finally come true. 😂 But yeah, what AngBata11 said is true. We Filipinos have a bad habit of one-upmanship. There is indeed a following here, but we rather would play with non-Filipino hunters. Unless you play with friends, then that's a different story.

Actually Monster Hunter is pretty big here in Phils but not as big as the other countries. I’m a 2nd gen hunter and I’ve met a lot of people in meet-ups even in the country side. There is also a dedicated Monster Hunter toy collecting group. I’m not familiar with the drama in filipino streaming scene so this is really an eye opener. Almost all people I played with MH are friendly and helpful. Also great podcast guys!

RNG decos are so much better than talismans coming from someone who has 500+ hours in rise and GU now
@yiangaruga49283 жыл бұрын
@@solstre2949 Certainly. And who's to say that they're not gonna adjust it and fix some of the issues with it.. For game progression and endgame I think it's a far better system, limitations are what makes us creative after all

Agreed, at least with rng decos you know what the grand prizes are, while talismans make you feel like poking with a stick in the dark not knowing whats actually there

I may be one of the filipinos who watches gaijin videos all the time, and also a bit of ragegaming. Especially when GU came out, I looked for his guides, tutorials for weapons because I sorely needed one and it helped me very much, and even some random vids like that mess of a weapon design in world ('cough' brach drumsticks) and how you wanted a MH game with a fine twist of old and world iceborne perspective. You're welcome I think LOL. Happy hunting!

I shall explain why the Serious Handler is better. The Handler is a cute face and a fun attitude, and that's all she is. She is rarely shown actually contributing to the Research Commissions cause, and that's where the Serious Handler shines. She is efficient and professional. She has a job to do and she's actually good at it. The Handler is the kind of person where if everyone is working, moving boxes and putting things together or something, the Handler is that one person walking around chit chatting instead of actually helping.

The serious handler seems to like the big hunts, based on text after the first zorah fight. It's just that you are too hardcore for her. My biggest problem with the handler was how she always rushes out and gets attacked by a monster. It just feels like she has no survival instinct and is the only reason you get hurt in cut scenes. Any other time you roll out of the way, but with legiana and velkhana you end up hurt.

I love Gunlance but I always feel like the usecase for gunlance, lance, and charge blade is too similar making the choice dependent on what weapon works slightly better in that game entry. I reaaaally hope the gunlance gets a re-work so it fires the cluster ammo and sticky ammos. and returns the heat gauge so it gives you a reason to go into melee as the gunlance cools down so you can shell again.

This is a good podcast. I'm from the Philippines and I'm a medical technologist who loves playing games (I'm a woman. Btw I just hated the stigma against girl gamers). My boyfriend got me into monster hunter and we both love it. From MHGU to MHR. And I agree with what angbata said about the crab mentality of the pinoys. It's so toxic that makes us want to leave the country. And also back then, I was considering doing content creation of monster hunter games and some other games but got scared because of the people here in our country (really super toxic) and of course, I'm a woman. So I'm shoving it off and not gonna do it even if I want to.

It's kinda strange, I've seen multiple videos from Angbata11, but never got the sense that he was a bowgun specialist. Of course just clicking on the channel and seeing recent videos it seems blatant. So I appreciate that his content reaches wider than his favorite weapon 👍 The conversation at 2:27 is very interesting to me. He says he specializes in efficient and easy strategies to ease the trouble of long grinds. I know he has a video saying World is better than Rise, but I'll admit I started it twice and didn't make it more than a few dozen seconds in, because in his own words it's not a video meant for me (someone who didn't play World). Rise is so respectful of the player's time, it almost doesn't have a grind at all, and World is infamous for its long grinds. So I can't help but seeing a connection. Rise doesn't fit into his content creation cycle. I've never been one to think that hours played indicates how much I love a game, but I have seen other people (not Angbata11, as far as I know) state it in very simple terms that hours played are proof of a game's quality. On the other hand, spending lots of time with a game leads to the opportunity to appreciate more and more of the details. I hear it again and again that the spaces of World feel so detailed and alive. If I jump in to the Steam Deck, World is definitely one of the first games I'll get (assuming it works...).
