All humans are capable of said action without the three words, it's just that we usually don't feel the need to perform such acts unless our very lives are on the line. It's a comittment so strong we put absolutely everything our body can output into that action, something we don't see the need to do unless our lives are on the line or coming to a close. Theoretically, I could make such an absurd feat without my life on the line, and without saying The Three Words, but I really don't want to have to put that much effort into it.

The science is that we only use about a 3rd of our muscle capacity in most situations, and the brain has this subconscious limiter set in place to not damage our muscles; if we didn't have it we'd damage our muscles irrevocably in just a few minutes. Granted, in situations the brain sees as more important, like a father protecting his family, a mother protecting her children, or anyone trying very hard to survive, the brain can switch off that limiter and let moms lift cars, dads one-punch a bear to death, and a hiker hurl a 7,000 pound boulder off their chest and over a cliff.

Kinda, but at the same time people who say death before dishonor generally had a way of getting themselves and/or others out alive but felt that taking said way out would've been worse than death for the ones to survive. The people saying the three words have already accepted that their fate is sealed as well as what their final act will be, and they will power through anything that stands in the way of achieving said act, including their own death. If their final act is incomplete than nothing short of the complete dismantlement of their body and tools/weapons can stop them.
