Dr. Greg Fahy gives an update on the TRIIM-X clinical trial at EARD 2022.
The TRIIM-X clinical trial aims to understand how to create a personalized thymus regeneration regimen. By regenerating the thymus, the researchers hope to be able to prevent or reverse certain aspects of immune system aging.

DESCRIPTION
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
Dr. Fahy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Irvine and a Ph.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Fahy used to be the Head of the Tissue Cryopreservation Section of the Transfusion and Cryopreservation Research Program for the U.S. Naval Medical Research Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, where he developed the original concept of ice blocking agents.
Dr. Fahy is the Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Intervene Immune, a biotech company researching rejuvenation of the immune system, particularly the thymus. He designed and led the TRIIM trial, published the first report of thymus regeneration in a normal human, and granted patents on methods for and applications of human thymus regeneration. Before his time at 21st Century Medicine, where he is the Executive Director and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Fahy pioneered the practical use of cryopreservation by vitrification and invented a computer system to apply this technology to organs at the American Red Cross.
Dr. Fahy is also a biogerontologist and is the originator and Editor-in-Chief of The Future of Aging: Pathways to Human Life Extension, a multi-authored book about the future of biogerontology.
For 16 years, Dr. Fahy worked as a Director of the American Aging Association and for 6 years as the editor of AGE News, the organization’s newsletter. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Rejuvenation Research and the Open Geriatric Medicine Journal.
The annual Ending Age-Related Diseases (EARD) conference by Lifespan.io brings together longevity thought leaders together to exchange research reports, inspire and get inspired with new ideas, find collaborators, supporters, and mentors.

This is 11 month old. Are the final results published? Or did it turn out to be negative and they didn’t publish?

Thanks. For those with the discipline and ability to exercise see research on Thymus and immunity by Janet Lord. Major preservation of function if one can exercise in older age.

Regarding placebo controls-rhgh is a very delicate molecule. It is simple to destroy including time at room temperature.

This guy is 72 years old! I wonder if he dyes his beard and hair? At any rate, he looks really good for his age so his rejuvenation treatments must be working.

I wouldn't think he has taken the treatment himself, and even if he did, the result would not be that dramatic. But maybe you were joking?

@@kooshikoo6442 Dead serious. He's been self-administering the protocol since his 40's. Some of the participants in the TRIIM trial noticed their grey hair reversing. Don't you think he looks great for a 72-year-old?

@@gamblinguru33 He did use an earlier form of his protocol 20 years ago, but he hasn't consistently been on it; although he did enroll in TRIIM-X a few months ago, afaik.

If he doesn't dye his hair and his beard, that is truly stunning. Although I'll believe this when I see it in a larger study. At least it's actually in human trials.

Why not use hormone inducing peptides then you could actually run a placebo study. It would also be something everyday people could get their hands on

Are there ways to slow down thymus' decline in the first place? Do we know? I would imagine things that periodically spike HGH would help, like fasting.

Extremely interesting study, but the lack of placebo is a major problem. He acknowledged this, and then followed it up by saying "but we do have some objective results," as if that somehow neutralizes the concern. But placebo effect can and often does result in objective changes. That's why it is such a formidable force. So the objectivity of results does not, by itself, validate the results.
@NaHanyate
@NaHanyate Жыл бұрын
So you feel that placebo effect could possibly account for considerable hair darkening in 3 of the 9 volunteers?
@scottk1525
@scottk1525 Жыл бұрын
@@NaHanyate I certainly can't dismiss the possibility. The placebo effect is powerful. How would I know what the limits are? I don't think anybody does. The placebo effect is powerful. Which is precisely why double blind placebo controlled studies are so crucial for teasing out true signals. I'll grant you it's likely that the change was due to the intervention, but in any case, a change in hair color is obviously not sufficient for saying that this treatment "reverses aging." Especially given that we don't know what the mechanism of action is behind the change.
