Katheryn Saunders Yeah, maybe 5 seconds was supposed to be the length of their career? But, I did like 500 Days Of Summer, and I don’t even like those kinds of movies. Never cared about 30 seconds to mars though, but they had a kinda cool sounding band name, don’t you think?

I enjoy 5sos music, but i gotta admit that the group name is exactly like the lyrics they write: it sounds deep if you don't listen too hard. They said in an interview how it sound kinda nice when you think about 5 seconds of the summer, but when you really think about it, it has another whole meaning. I don't remember exactly how they said it, but it was something like that and it's kinda the equivalent of saying "I'm saying something deep right now". It sounds like it's deep and mysterious until you search for a real meaning and realise it's garbage, exactly like my life. Basically they write thing that don't make sense, but are still a not too bad group for teenage girl because the singer is not bad at all, and they have a decent instrumental mix thing going on. I really liked them when I was 16, which make sens, and the typical horse girl of my highschool friend group still like them a lot today because they aren't so bad, and #SoFuckinfDeeeeppBroooo

it's still gross and weird when pretty people do it, but now it's gross and weird and HOT - made even hotter by the gross and weird bit - lemme try to explain the appeal have u heard of eroguro, japan's national aesthetic? catholics are into it, too - they just won't admit it, unlike the japanese there's a strange beauty to beautiful people doing ugly things - or ugly things being done to beautiful people. i think it's the same principle as a sweet and sour flavor combo - the sour brings out the sweet, and the sweet tempers the sour all people are naturally attracted to beauty, and considering all the sex-and-guts focused horror movies we have today, blood and gore seems to excite people - alone, they're not that remarkable, but together, they have this strange effect of enhancing each other's best qualities catholic art also has undertones of such an idea - the religion has a hard-on for suffering - as ashley cope calls it, the nobility of suffering suffering has been seen for centuries as oddly noble and beautiful - martyrdom especially, catholics love that stuff

Xentenial I don't know if this is a woman thing or not, because even if Adam Levine was hypothetically a sexy woman in that clip, dancing around human carcasses on hooks is definitely a turnoff to me. Edit: In the 3 years since I left this comment, I got into Pig Destroyer. Animals pretty much sounds like an anthem for the main character/narrator/point-of-view of their album Prowler in the Yard, with a video to match. Prowler in the Yard's title should clue you in to why this is a problem.

buckley's not even among the angriest youtube personalities out there. i find him actually mostly reasonable, if kind of a dick i like todd's pop reviews better than his, though. buckley's a total foreigner to this stuff - he doesnt enjoy pop at all. he's not even a musical person, he HATES those "music is my life" types todd on the other hand is just foreign enough to pop to be entertaining. todd's a citizen of the pop world, but an oddity in that he doesnt at all seem like it. he's older, from a different time. he seems more like an alt rock guy, and he knows his music history. that's the thing: todd IS a genuine musical person. buckley isnt at all it all boils down to this: buckley reviews pop because he hates it. todd reviews pop because he loves it

@@eli-is That said, I didn't find it very funny either, largely for same reasons above. Simply put, It doesn't have to be a brilliant masterpiece in every respect to catch your attention, or carry you away in its story. I feel like those channels obsess over technical details and writing problems with too much vile and anger, failing to acknowledge the fact it works for a lot of people (without a condensing "guess people just like listening to trash" type of comment) I like Todd cause he's good middle ground between the most boring college music professor Fantano and Buckley. Not boring, but not bickering about how dumb a clock motif is in (whatever that hit song was) acting like its the death of all good music.

"'Cause I'm preyin' on YOU tonight, huntchu down eatCHU alive, just like animals-mals..." Um...Adam? Can I talk to you about something? Yeah, see...most animals do not, in fact, eat each other in the context of mating. That only happens in a very few cases, and in those cases, it's because the animal eating the other animal had just mated with it and was hungry, or desperately confused. It's got nothing to do with hunting. Also the animals that eat their mates are female, and, uh...if you want to be threatening, probably don't compare yourself to a female bug. Particularly not when you're already singing notes I, as a woman, have to use my head voice to hit.

Do you like Maroon 5? Their early work was a little too rock for my tastes, but when It Won’t Be Soon Before Long came out in 2007, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a slick, funky sound, and a new sheen of immaculate production that really gives the songs a big boost. Adam Levine’s been compared to Brandon Flowers, but I think he has a far more adamant, boastful sense of bravado. In 2010, Maroon 5 released Hands All Over, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Moves Like Jagger", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just a song about seduction that invokes the image of the famous British singer, it's also a personal statement about Adam himself.

7:45 Adding to the list of things she shouldn't have done, Taylor Swift shouldn't have been allowed to wear those shoes. Just wearing pointe shoes without enough ankle strength can cause minor (but irreversible) damage to the knees and ankles, and there's no way she got five years' worth of intensive ballet training just for this. That entire video just makes me mad.

So, what are your thoughts on Maroon 5? Their early work was a little too new pop for my taste. But then they came out with their album V in 2014 and I really think they came into their own, comercially and artistically. The album has a clear, sharp, crisp sound and a sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. While he's been called one of the most romantic men in America, I really think Adam Levine has a more bitter, cynical understanding of love than what he publicly shows.

I didn't expect you to know, but I decided to ask anyways, because I thought it'd be funny to see what you had to say, because maybe you'd say something funny. It's fine though. So, I guess neither one of us is really qualified to talk about why or how they hate being called a boy band, yet keep acting like one. I mean, I don't like boy bands either, at least not anymore, but I did unironically enjoy nsync and the backstreet boys when they were around, because I thought their songs sounded ok. So, it's not entirely bad to sound like a boy band, but I get why some people wouldn't want to be associated with the term. It can bring bad connotations and make your music seem like it's only made for annoying, screaming fangirls. Maybe these guys want to be seen as a serious band? Maybe that's why they hate being compared to one? Because maybe it makes them seem like a bunch of kids wearing their dad's clothes? That's what I think anyways, dude.
