As an intermediat level rider I can say that my Trident 660 with a Gdp exaust is a beautiful beast to behold. It really is a damn nice ride that is garneted to bring a smile or at least a shit eating grin.

I can tell you I experienced everything you said, it's a great bike. I own a 2023 Triumph Trident 🔱 660 and I've installed all the additional communications modules. I know people are going to say that tech on bikes is really a gimmick but the navigation and GoPro control is quite awesome. I also ordered the factory alarm from the UK for the bike. The ability to have a full alarm that plugs directly into the factory harnesses is a giant plus. The hardened mounting brackets and location is fantastic too. I had a Honda VFR 750 in the 90s and putting an alarm on it was difficult and obviously required me to cut factory harness wires. I also added the quick shifter which I find I have to force myself to use after riding with the clutch and shifting manually for all these years but actually it's quite awesome in city traffic.

@NostalgicMotorcycles3 ай бұрын
You can find used ones for 8k maybe 7k if you’re lucky. But there are plenty of bikes for less on the used market. How much are you working with I might could make some suggestions.

Tuono probably has the best performance, but if something goes wrong, it'll be sitting for months waiting for parts from Italy.
@NostalgicMotorcyclesАй бұрын
@@kevm3 I have heard. It does have more power for sure. I will have to wait to ride one to double check but for me its not the amount of power that is awesome about this bike its about how its delivered. Linear and increasing it does not die out.

This what Harley shot for in their Evo Sportster replacement and missed.
@NostalgicMotorcyclesАй бұрын
Oh god no. That’s not even close. The sportster s is not a middle weight naked. Lmao. A short travel “bobber” type suspension cruiser with 40 more HP and double the torque is no where near a middle weight naked. That’s not true at all. Lmaooo. 2 different plants buddy.
@exexpat11Ай бұрын
EVO Sporty was around 58hp in the 1200cc, 550lbs. Very dated as the last major changes were in 84. HD wanted a light, mid weight, powerful 80+HP bike. Instead they got the Revolution powered Sportster. Powerful, a little overweight, limited in function. Sort like a mini V-Rod replacement more than a Sportster.
@NostalgicMotorcyclesАй бұрын
Those are all purposeful decisions. Not accidents. It’s not a v rod either. The engine is similar. I’m sure it’s derived from it for sure. But it’s not a traditional frame bike. It really is a new design for HD.

How would you compare this bike with the mt-07 ? Having a hard time picking between those two for my first bike 😣
@NostalgicMotorcycles2 ай бұрын
Even though the MT is more popular. I prefer trident. Honestly it makes more even power and more at the top. Roughly the same size but more simple design. I think the trident left a longer impression on me.

Same size as me basically. It does feel a little short front to rear but I think that’s just the general naked bike position because the mt’s make me feel the same way

This is not a “middleweight”. This is more of a “beginner plus”. The street triple is a true middleweight. Quit with the marketing nonsense
@NostalgicMotorcycles4 ай бұрын
Its literally classified as a middleweight lol. 80Hp is well over the beginner category which sits 20-50hp. I get what your saying and agree this is a approachable to a responsible newbee but that doesnt make it not a middleweight. a speed triple although still middleweight is at the very top end. where the 660 is bottom. just opposite sides of the class. I get i its a weird place where both of these bikes are the same class but not my call lol. what marketing nonsense? it's a bike review that I don't get paid for unless you watch the ads. Which BTW special thanks for the feedback and the your time.
@exexpat11Ай бұрын
I remember back when 350cc to 650cc was a middleweight. Now Middle Weights are 1200 and above in standards and cruisers.
@NostalgicMotorcyclesАй бұрын
Lmfao ya I don’t disagree. But you can’t really judge off displacement. More of a power range. You can have a 120hp 600cc bike. And a 50hp 1200. Using only displacement doesn’t really get the whole picture you know.
@Yourbestlife127 күн бұрын
Guys are funny! So is an MT09 a middle? The middle class is huge from 600s up to the Duke 990 and Monster are all technically middle weights. Until they come up with a new class they are all considered middles dude.
@NostalgicMotorcycles27 күн бұрын
Ya lmaoo. It’s basically. Like the faster bike and the slowest bike. Anything between is getting called middle !
