The TRUE MEANING of Candy Cadet - FNAF Theory

Candy Cadet is certainly a strange part of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, having a chance to tell one of three different stories that seem to give insight into the lore of the series. However, while it’s been argued by most to be evidence for MoltenMCI, or the theory that the 5 kids from the Missing Children Incident had their souls stuffed into the Funtime animatronics before ending up in Molten Freddy, I don’t think that’s what’s going on here.
After all, there’s a pretty major detail of one of these stories that not only makes it so that can’t be the case, but with that in mind, the stories start to paint a different, and I think clearer, picture of what’s been going on in the series. So what do the Candy Cadet stories mean?

I love this interpretation, because you're right - all three stories have that common denominator BUT we all kinda left it at that. They all do have different narratives and you're right to pick up on that. In a game all about tying the loose ends of a story - showing various parts of the beginning and end of the timeline, it makes a lot of sense for them all to represent different parts of the series, all under the umbrella of 5 children, 5 nights, 5 souls. After all, this is FIVE nights at Freddy's

Honestly, these are amazing interpretations. It's actually surprising how much the woman in the keys story reflects Charlie/the Puppet... in hindsight, we should have realized it years ago. Also the kitten story being about Micheal, brings a darker picture about Elizabeth's death. While the snake/Baby chose randomly, that kitten/Elizabeth was still an option. William did say that he built her just for his little girl.

I think you’re spot on with the orphan story, and this is what jumps out at me for the last few lines in particular: both Henry and the man’s story end with them being forced to compromise on laying the children they failed to rest, the man’s stitching of the children and only being able to afford the one coffin is mirroring the fact that Henry had no choice but to lure, trap and burn them along with Afton. He couldn’t risk his plan not working, he couldn’t “afford” the luxury of respectfully laying each of them to rest the way they deserved, as he definitely would have preferred in any other circumstance. Both Henry and the man had righted their (perceived) failures, but neither could live with the guilt of those failures and the way they were forced to correct them. That night, there was a knock at the door; Death. It’s implying the man immediately took his own life, just as Henry did

I feel all these interpretations are pretty solid. I think everyone felt the initial suggestion for Candy Cadet's stories was good enough and kinda moved on from it, but revisiting them with a new mindset has created what I feel are more sensible explanations and insights behind three major characters of the series.

Random thought: In a more meta sense, Henry in FNAF 6 literally brought everything in one place. Every single major character in this game is a representation of the games before it. For one, Molten Freddy represents FNAF 1's Freddy, the face of the franchise. Lefty houses the Puppet inside, which brings in FNAF 2. We also have Springtrap, representing FNAF 3. The player we play as, presumably Michael Afton who represents FNAF 4 (assuming he is Foxybro in the minigames). We also have Scrap Baby, representing Sister Location. Even the background music for Henry's speech is a remixed version of Underneath 2 from FNAF WORLD. If we wanted to stretch it more, we could say that Henry represents the original novel triology. Henry quite literally put everyting in one place.

Charlie wanted to help everyone. Which is something that her father confirms to be in her nature. Michael turned a blind eye to everything his father was doing before his regret caused him to act. And Henry...well we get what had happened during the MIssing Children's incident and his motivation to end everything. To end the Nightmare that unfortunately is continuing.

One thing I have thought about was how did Henry lure the animatronics to the Pizzaria Simulator location. Most assume some sort of audio or radio signal, but I think the idea that he used the Remnant trapped in the heads left over from FNAF3 makes more sense. Those souls would have attracted the Puppet, allowing it to be trapped within Lefty, and the presence of Remnant would have attracted the others, since all of them would have been seeking it: molten Freddy because of the original programming of the Funtime animatronics, Scrap Baby because she wants to further her father's work, and Afton because he needs more Remnant if he's going to resurrect himself.

These interpretations are great! Michael turning a blind eye to his father is so fitting, and all the motivations line up. I was never satisfied with the one-size-doesn't-quite-fit-all interpretation the fandom has, and I think yours have got to be very close if not spot on.

I vaguely imagined the kitten story as being representative of the Bite of ‘83, with the snake being Fredbear and Michael being the boy. He, in his negligence, allows the crying child to be bitten and broken by Fredbear; after five nights (the five nights in FNAF 4), Michael promises to put the crying child back together, just as the boy puts the kitten back together before laying it to rest. This video changed my perspective on that a lot, but I still find the number of parallels between the two stories interesting

Unrelated to Candy Cadet, but something I was reminded of when you played HRY223: Henry outright says he doesn't know how the animatronics became haunted in that audio log, yet seems to acknowledge Charlie as the reason they're possessed during his final speech. Have to wonder how he made that discovery between HRY223 and FNaF6.

Oh my god I honestly love the interpretation for the key story. I mean having Charlie having the choice to free one child or giving all the children a second life but they’re still trapped is such a cool idea. It honestly makes me feel bad for Charlie since she didn’t really have a choice.

I absolutely agree with this, in part due to my disagreements with molten MCI, but more so that you mentioned the at the remaints of fnaf 3's fire went on to be sold at auction. its pretty easy to see that henry would've gathered items like those animatronic shells and left them to be burnt with everthing else in fnaf 6. Honestly the explanation I like the most for the blob, with it made of the parts and shells henry gathered that are left at the end of fnaf 3 and sister location, with the fnaf 6 crew melting into the stash. The concept of the blob being AR animatronics or just replica animatronics feels too retcon-y. Would undercut the blob seeming to go after afton, and the animatronics in the blob being very intentionally recognizable animatronics.

Personally I've fallowed a pretty old interpretation that after fnaf 4 was no longer the end of the series the mystery Box was retconned into representing the second end of the series, the fnaf 6 fire. The box is famously infamously described as: "All the pieces put together" or I guess you could say it's... all of them, together in one place... In connection terminated the vent map loses the the square in the center and the map turns into a horizontal rectangle that looks a lot like the box itself, plus there was the connection that fuhnaff more recently found, where henry keeps mentioning Michael's special obligations under paragraph four, and the fourth paragraph of the Scott steam message talking about the box was exactly what the box was The Candy Cadet man's tale even fits this, but a little different from your idea, the man is still Henry and the robber is still William and the coffin is still fnaf 6, but I'd restructure it to the five children being the five Euclids the fire burned, Afton, Baby, Molten Freddy, the Puppet, and Michael, I think this interpretation is from matpat right after fnaf 6 came out, but I still think it fits perfectly thematically after all this time (This wasn't in the original theory but maybe Michael and Henry represent the two locks? And I guess the fun and toys the man did for the children was the fnaf 6 pizzaria? idk this poetry stuff is really hard to nail down)

@@IDsFantasy Oh another thought, maybe the whole "Charlie could've completely saved one child but chose to fail at saving all of them" thing was referring to Cassidy? We don't know exactly why Cassidy is more angry and vengeful than anyone else, but my best guess is that while the other four missing children got put into functional animatronics that could move and interact, Cassidy was stuck for decades in a broken unmoving suit, plus sharing it with another kid, If that's the reason Cassidy is angry that sorta makes the puppet somewhat responsible for the vengeful spirit and Afton's escape of the fnaf 6 fire, Charlie tried to save every child by putting all of them into suits but because she was too ambitious Cassidy became vengful and William ended up surviving, meaning none of them were saved, or at least that Charlie failed her mission

Scott is the Candy Cadet. He offered a story that was dark and twisted that was basically improvised after his original game failed and everyone loved it and everyone saw he was just a regular guy trying to do his job. Candy Cadet offered to tell a dark and twisted story that was purely improvised after it's original work (selling candy) didn't work out and everyone loved it. Though in the end it offers candy and goes back to being robotic because that's just it's job. I'm joking of course. There's so much lore in these games that I'm certain Scott's just improvising on that it makes my brain hurt.

Yeah. I will say I disagree with his interpretation of the chip since in Sister Location it's put into HandUnit so Baby can continue talking to Mike as far as I'm aware and I don't think it's much else, but it does line up pretty well!

I always assumed every time we hear Baby's voice after we take the chip it's actually Ennard talking and I don't see when or why Michael would put the chip in the hand unit since he hightails it to the scooping room and has "baby" inside of him afterwards anyway so he doesn't need to use the hand unit to talk to her

Hand Unit is used to control a lot of facilities at SL. It's also featured in Help Wanted which is the first occurance of Glitchtrap.

I think the Kitten one could also be about Michel and the Crying Child, as he 'fed' his brother to Fredbear, and felt guilty after realizing what he had done, however with this one I'm not sure where the five nights really comes in, and as far as I know he never tries to put him back together or anything of the sorts. Anyways, I really liked your interpretations of these stories, it feels like a better fit for each story to fit different characters instead of all of them fitting one.

It was never Mucheals intention to kill the crying child, he put him into the mouth, sure, but he didn't realise or actively try to have the mouth close, which is what actually killed the child. In the same way, the boy gives the kitten to the snake, the same exact way Michael gives Crying Child to Fredbear, the boy only stands back and watches while the snake actually kills it, the same way Michael stands back and watches his brother die in the bears jaws

Great video as always! I'd like to know your thoughts on "The immortal and the restless" as I think a lot of people are misunderstanding that the baby is not actually the child of the vampire. My theory is that the baby is supposed to be Michael and the vampire (William) is saying he's not his child as he sort of disowned him after the death of the crying child. The ending where Michael has purple eyes having the theme playing in the background also makes me think that.

This is shockingly straight forward, like compared the MatPat's "Oh you are a robot with an illusion disk" you didn't make unnecessary leaps while also ignoring a more reasonable answer. Like how I presume Gregory is suffering under an illusion disk that Vanny is carrying(resulting in the weird effects), rather then Gregory turning out to be a robot boy that was made to house the spirit of Crying Child which was synthetically revived.

@@IDsFantasy Immediately looking at the 'code' made me come up with a reasonable question. WHO Wrote It? It says "I built the breath" and then Late it says "Crush the _Vile_ band". It implies that whoever 'built the breath' is also not aligned with the 'band'. Which implies this isn't from Glitchtrap, but someone else. 'You' is clearly Gregory, but those 2 are the only ones that are 'clear'. "Life not real" could refer to Gregory being a robot, but at the same time, I feel like it could be applied to how Glitchtrap is seemingly reviving his kids. (Elizabeth is likely in Venessa's body, if we follow the logic Glitchtrap established and the fact she's seemingly the 'sister' in the 3 star ending) So we have William and 'Elizabeth'(or just Vanny) seemingly working to get back the life they never lived, their 'life that wasn't real', meanwhile Crying Child, having potentially been exposed to Cassidy's anger while they shared Golden Freddy, does not want to play along, so he's able to work with Charlie to fight back. So unless I'm out of the loop and Remnant can't possess humans(given what GT pulled, I expect it should), then Gregory could have been a possessed child who Glitchtrap was trying to set up a fake life for, one that CC would then live, under the control of GT of course. It would also explain why Glitchtrap isn't able to just take control of Gregory. Vanessa has a real body, but her spirit is broken, and has the 'no longer disobedient' Elizabeth to keep the control. Michael won't willingly work for his father, but his body is mechanical, he can just be hijacked, as Michael is no programmer. But if Gregory is both a flesh and bones person, AND has a 'rebellious child' then he'd be able to fight back without having his body hijacked. And yeah, I think the bad ending is what happened in FNAF 3 with the kids souls (minus Charlie and Cassidy but that's its own thing regarding UCN and Security Breach) probably being freed in FFPS unless William sticking around kept them around as well. For MoltenMCI, yeah I don't really believe that theory. They're murder bots, they do murder. But like I mention in this video I think it's technically possible some Remnant from the MCI kids was put in the Funtimes, but I don't think that's where their souls are I'm glad you like the video!

And it would make sense, we’ve never had a direct confirmation of which ending was canon in FNAF 3, but based on the happiest day minigame, which is obvs purely symbolic lol, we know Charlie is freed *after* the missing children, based on the puppet mask falling last - but as you said, her and Cassidy are their own thing with security breach + UCN lol. And I think it is possible some of their remnant was used for Funtimes, tho my biggest issue was actually from Henry’s speech: “And to you monsters trapped in the corridors. Be still, and give up your spirits. They don't belong to you.” It does show both Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy during this time, in aforementioned corridors, and the issue is he directly addresses Elizabeth, Michael, Charlotte and William in his speech, which at least raises an eyebrow at what spirits he’s talking about that need to be freed from ‘Monsters’ - which is plural. As mentioned, it shows Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy, which, at least to me, suggests that Molten Freddy may have some unnamed spirits attached to it, but you may have a different opinion regarding that, but I think it’s at least unusual Henry said it. Still, thank you for the quick response once again! I've long suspected that the candy cadet stories were meant to reveal the motivation behind the surviving Afton's, however you've sold me with your analysis. I assumed that the five key story was about missus afton and her inability to save her family from Afton's obsession, the snake and kitten story was about one of the kids who would watched everything unfold, and the old man story was about the Afton and how his obsession started. You're interpretation lines up a lot better but I feel like there is a through line in the stories that we are all still missing, something that might point us in the direction those stories are meant to lead people. I agree with the Henry story almost entirly, but I take it a step further. I think him stitching the kids together means he used their remnant to make LEFTE, because LEFTE's goal of luring the puppet would be made easier if he contained the souls she was still trying to protect. So my perspective on PS's ending is: LEFTE=MCI+ Charlotte + Crying child, Molten Freddy = DCI (I think the funtimes were animated with remnant from the scrapped toys), and then Afton, Elizabeth, Mike, and Henry are all there as well. Since the goal was to wipe out all the remnant that resulted from Afton's murders. Great video as always, some real interesting stuff here!

Absolutely brilliant. I've always loved Candy Cadet and his stories were so interesting to me, but I couldn't quite connect it to anything. But thanks to you and the FNAF fanbase's earlier theories, you've clarified so much of this and it feels good to finally understand the roles, purposes, and nature of the haunted animatronics, the Puppet's power, and the Happiest Day "failing" (in a sense) until FNAF 6 ended it all for good. Yeah, I've spent long enough in this fandom to know that we sometimes take the first I guess popularish interpretation of something in these games and just treat it as fact and never actually question it. I think a classic would probably be the Summer job phone guy line from FNAF 2. It's not always the wrong interpretation mind, but it has formed a consistent pattern. I do worry if the whole FuntimeMCI thing is just another excuse to invalidate the other murders William committed, both by hand and by animatronic by at least implying its just those original 5 + Elizabeth possessing the sister location animatronics not to get too bogged down by that but FuntimeMCI87 - I just refuse to use DCI - could easily fit as well with the evidence if not better than regular FuntimeMCI). Anyways, your interpretations are fun. I think the first one with the puppet has some interesting implications if Golden Freddy's spirits death/supernatural manifestation was a side effect of the whole trying to save everyone thing. That minigame, at least to me, seemed to imply Golden Freddy somewhat resented the Puppet for his situation and could explain why they both developed seemingly opposite approaches to dealing with Afton. Michael interpretation is pretty cool, the five nights connection is fun especially as they were at least a recurring protagonist, although Sister location I believe is still the only game that does have exactly 5 canon nights. The orphan story is ok, but I'm not convinced it's wholly right, specifically with the knock on the door thing. That feels like it should refer back to something within the story itself but that might just be me.

I've spent a lot of time this year trying to piece together what these stories mean, and I love your interpretations. I can't believe I missed the detail with the snake only eating one kitten, and not five. Now while I do think your interpretation of the orphan story is somewhat similar to mine, I thought I would share my own. (Sorry, this is gonna be really long) So it has been common belief since FFPS came out that Molten Freddy is derived from Ennard, with the biggest pieces of evidence being the blueprint with the funtime tags being present within MF, the fact the voice of MF is the same as FT Freddy, and the design of MF also being wires. I believe that at some point during development of FFPS, this was the direction Scott wanted the story to go, but then decided to change it, hence why the blueprint showing MF was removed from the game. I believe Scott wanted to include the souls of MCI in some way to make the conclusion of FFPS more meaningful, so he changed the MF from being the rest of Ennard, to being a literal molten amalgamation of the original animatronics. We the community ended up coming to both conclusion though, that the MCI souls are in MF, and MF is from the funtimes, thus we had to connect the dots in a way that frankly was pretty flimsy, by having to believe that William took remnant from the animatronics, injected them into the funtimes, then returned again to get springtrapped, but with the souls still at the FNaF 1 location to scare him. This then begs the question of where did MF come from, and I believe, much like you said, lies in the orphan story, as well as the insanity ending dialogue. In the insanity ending, Henry says "It's only now that I understand the depth of the depravity of this...creature - this monster that I unwillingly helped to create". The only other time Henry mentions a monster, is in the completion ending, when referring to MF, thus Henry is also talking about MF here in the insanity ending, and he in some what helped to create it. Henry then goes onto say "As if what he had already done wasn't enough, he found a new way to desecrate, to humiliate, to destroy." I believe this is talking about the follow me minigames, and William essentially destroying he lives of the children once again. In the SAVE THEM minigame, William says "you can't" in reference to the puppet wanting to save the children he just murdered, so I think William hates the fact that the MCI kids got to live on through the animatronics, so after the FNaF 1 location shut down, he returned to destroy them once and for all. This is supported by the fact Henry makes mention of the follow me minigames later in the insanity ending dialogue. Now onto the orphan story. I believe that the burglar breaking in is a parallel for the follow me minigames, with William breaking in and destroying the animatronics. Henry returns to find his creations destroyed, and is devastated. I think Henry then took the endoskeleton parts, including the eyes, brought them to his workshop, and melted them all down together, to bring ceremoniously bring an end to Freddy Fazbear and the gang. This is why none of the endoskeleton parts are found in the FNaF 3 location, and only the shells, and why it is only wires and eyes found on MF. This also explains why his name is Molten Freddy, being that he is literally a melted down version. The "that night, there was a knock on the door" could either be MF returning to the FNaF 1 location, and picking up and old mask to use as a face, or MF brought into the FFPS location. I do think you're right with Henry only learning in 2023 that the MCI kids went on to possess the animatronics, and that he unwillingly helped to create the monster that is Molten Freddy. Curious to hear anyone's thoughts.

To me, the shows that it isn't the good ending, or the bad ending, but rather a mix. I also believe that happiest day is all about letting the spirit of BV rest, with all the FNaF 3 minigames being elements of BV's memories. Thus I think the canon ending of FNaF is the bad ending, with the souls of the MCI kids not being released, but with BV free from Golden Freddy. As for why Henry melted them down, it could just be because at that point he had lost everything, his Daughter, his company, and even his own creations, so it was more of a symbolic gesture of letting the animatronics themselves rest by destroying and giving them a burial of sorts, as hinted at in the orphan story. I mean, what else was he gonna do with a pile of animatronic scraps.

I think candy cadet was foreshadowing. In the stories it talks about things becoming one. In the games cannon ending baby is bragging about "we all become as one" might've been talking about the blob! The blob is literally made up of different Animatronics, they became as one. Maybe they were hinting in the blobs existence in a really vague way. The bodies that were thrown down there by the mimic, ended up fueling it with remnant making it alive.

I always interpreted the snake one as the crying child. If you think about it, there were technically 5 kids. The crying child, and the 4 bullies. Only one died, that being the crying child. And in FNAF 4, there’s the iconic lines. ‘Your broken. I will put you back together’. So while I do think your idea of the story is good, it could also apply to the crying child. And also, the 5 nights could also relate to the 5 days leading up to the crying child’s birthday. And if you remember, the foxy mask bully has a red mask, relating to the snake. I think yours works well, but this is just an open minded interpretation.

The snake, or fredbear in this case, was left alone by the boy, or Michael, as he turned a blind eye. Also, you have to note that almost all the nightmare animatronics eyes are red, also referencing the snake. It would also make sense for it to be the Crying Child because nightmare and fredbear are the only nightmare animatronics with 2 sets of teeth. It could be a reference to fangs, given how sharp the teeth are.

I’ve got a theory, in the ruin trailer, we see Gregory telling Cassie he’s “trapped in the pizzaplex. Or at least what’s left of it”. And judging by the surroundings in the pizzaplex, it is very old and run down at this point. Like give it a year to ten years of time pass. And Gregory hasn’t seemed to have aged at all, at least in his voice. And we already have ample evidence that he may be a robot. “But what robot?” You may ask. Mimic. “But what is he mimicking?” The crying child. We also see Gregory hurt one, and kill another therapist under the name patient 46. And who do we see that has violent intentions? Mimic

Hi ID! I’ve been rewatching some of your older security breach theories with the perspective of the information we hold now and I was wondering if you could look into the possibility that gregory is a mimic or at least some variation of it. I watched the charlie and crying child post-it room theory and with us now knowing that the triangle language is at least associated with the mimic, my mind immediately went to gregory being one himself as the code describes his stay in the pizzaplex. The issue is the triangles and zig zags of the wall code don't actually match how Edwin's code is described; squiggles, loops, triangles WITHIN triangles, etc. I don't think the code is associated with the Mimic at all tbh, especially since the new book gives Mimic POV and it wouldn't make sense for Gregory to be one. Loved the video! To mention, something about parts being used to be added to the sister location group and how the books mentions it also, a lot of people overlook how that also happened in fnaf 2 when they said they were using parts from the withers to be used on the new toy ones. Tbh, the same kids have haunted the entire series, but the parts taken so far back have just been added and spread to each new one that Faz entertainment makes, you can see how even 1 kid is broken up so many times. just multiply that by 5, while Charlie has been in the same puppet since the beginning. Making it probably the easiest for her to keep doing what she can for them. Tbh, diffidently a video worth making. I think a lot of people overlook it.

Desolate Hope was a 2012 game by Scott Cawthon. I suspect Candy and also Music Man are modeled after this game’s characters. One of the characters in FNAF world is even directly from that game. This makes a lot of sense. I was never able to wrap my head around the theories that they were all the same event because while there were similarities in all of theme, there were too many differences to seem like a retelling of the same event. More of a common theme to focus on. The kitten story always reminded me of Michael Afton (though that one I could see how most people saw it as William) so maybe I am biased in liking this theory, but it's the first theory on Candy Cadet's story that I feel like actually makes sense to me.

This also leaves more room for Candy Cadet's story in RUIN to fit with the others. Before it was just a weird random story to foreshadow the mimic being the big bad, but if his other stories are about different characters that means this new one might have been there all along right? Who knows, maybe Candy Cadet had five stories originally, and we only got to see three? Anyway, all that to say i love this explanation!
